GenVibe Member Map at Frappr!

Post by ZubenElGenubi »

Edited on 5/18/2010: Frappr! is no more. See my most recent post for more information. The instructions below are no longer applicable, but I won't remove them right now.Frappr! was a website that used Google Maps to create maps of group members.Click on image or link to see our site: -or-http://www.frappr.com/genvibeTo add yourself to our Frappr map:Enter your GenVibe username in the Name field, your e-mail address, your zipcode (5 digit or 5+4),select a pushpin for your vehicle type (Base, GT, AWD, other)a shoutout (like a tagline), andan optional picture (doesn't have to be resized; it will scale down a thumbnail for you),Updated Info: Frappr! is back to using Google Maps to generate the map. The interface has once again changed, but seems to run quickly. I'm trying to optimize it by turning off the auto-touring.You can also add "Places" and I've designated a special pushpin type for our meets. Four GenVibe meets are visible on the map.Note: Please use your GenVibe username for your pushpin name. If I cannot verify GenVibe forum membership for a pushpin, it will be removed from the map.IM me if you have additional questions or need posted stuff fixed.

I'm glad to hear that some of you are interested. I'd like to hear from some of the GV moderators & NSimkins on how they feel about this as well.I'd be willing to moderate the Frappr group, if OK'd by you all.

I don't see any need for an "OK" from anyone...or any reason why anyone would turn it down. I think it's a pretty cool idea.

Use the "Browse" button to find a file, then click the "Add Me!" button. If you want to update existing information, make sure you choose the same Name and ZipCode; it will replace the optional information you supply. There's more information at the Frappr FAQ

WHOA, that's nuts, the marker on the site is about 100 yards down the road from my house. Frappr knows......... EDIT: Ok it's more like 200 yards but still, my zipcode covers a large area.
