People in Michigan...HELP!

Post by Emerica13 »

Ok, I got pulled over yesterday for spinning my tires while taking off but it was an honest accident, my inside tire just went up because i was turning left out of a parking lot that was somewhat sloped, but i didnt get a ticket (thank god because im not 17 yet) So, Im wondering, if you just get a warning, does it show up on insurance statements? My dad would flip and automatically assume i was racing, because hes like that and I just want to know if anyone knows for sure if this will show up. Our insurance company is AAA if that makes a difference. EDIT: I am aware that I definitely put this in the wrong forum in my nervousness

i'm not 100% sure but i dont think it affects your insurance, but it is on record with the police department!so if you get stopped again they will see the warning that they issued. In the past I have never recieved an written warning I have gotten a verbal warning a couple of times and that has no effect on anything.

Yeah it was not anything written, the cop didnt give me any citation or anything, he just told me to change my driving habits Thanks, that eases my nerves quite a bit

No a warning does not show up on your insurance, and if your on your fathers insurance they'll never find out about your tickets till you get a new vehicle and they check your record. My insurance still hasn't done an audit on my insurance and found the 2 tickets I got Memorial Weekend.

Don't worry about it - if nothing was written, then it basically didn't even happen and you can forget about it unless the same cop pulls you over again. I got a written warning before, I was driving up a winding little service drive between the high school and middle school in town in my Firebird and put my foot down, went sideways, and he was PISSED but didn't feel like screwing my driving record. You're just fine, though. Let it ride.Wait until you get an actual ticket though. You will be paying out the wazzoo for insurance. I don't know how I can afford my car . . .

even if he gave you a written warning in michigan, if would not show up.If it would have been a ticket, it wouldn't show up until after the court was done and your ticket was paid for.the court only reports to the secertary of state's office, if there's points involved. But in this state it's all about the money! My wife recently got a speeding ticket, they reduced the ticket to Impeeding the flow of traffic. That is a non-point offense so are insurance will never know.

Oh and hey, next time you feel like burning the **** outta your tires, don't do it on the street - take it to the strip! I see you're from Novi, so you probably know where Milan is. You should come out, run down the track a few times. It's a blast. Myself and some of the other Redline guys head down there every once in a while, it's usually $20-35 to race on test-and-tune days. If you're interested, you're more than welcome to join, I'll probably be down there again on Sept. 29th or 30th. Let me know.

Yeah well my dad noticed theres about a 1/4 ich more tread on the back tires than the front...no idea what thats from... But if i can, I'll definitely join you. So when i got pulled over, my friend is drivin behind me in his talon and he whips into a parking lot and sprints to the side of haggerty to take this picture, which i recieve as a picture message on my cell phone while i am in the car talking to the cop. I did the photoshopping myself EDIT: How can i get the pic in my sig to work?

The stock tires are probably the crappiest tires on the market. All four of mine were almost complately bald around 25,000. If your dad freaks out and acuses you of burning out tel him it is common. My mom was pissed about my tiers and tried blaming it on me but I just went out and bought new ones anyways lol. I had to wait to buy tires til spring so I was pretty much driving in the michigan snow and ice with racing slicks (removed).Just remind your dad the Vibe only has 130hp not even at the wheels so it's almost impossible to do a burnout (even though it is) but he doesn't know that.

But if they were bald from burnouts, wouldn't the blame have been properly placed on you, and your mom would have been right? Mine are looking more worn than they should be right now at 26,000-ish, but they definitely aren't bald...

The thing is I did like one burnout when I first got the car around a corner and I did 2 burnouts at the Dream Cruise last year both for about 6-8 seconds...no where NEAR enough tire being burned to wear them down as much as they were. Also I rotated them after the Dream Cruise and by the time winter ended the fronts were just as bald and that's without any burnouts! Explain that one lol
