10/32 = 0.31251/4 =0.2510/32 is bigger than 1/4, so how can 10/32 (the bigger one) be too small and 1/4 (the smaller one) be too big?I would assume that it is a metric thread because everything else I've run across on the car is metric. I know the hitch bolts had a very fine thread. Are the holes coarse or fine thread? since you said 8mm won't fit, I assume you tried an 8mm. Was it too big to fit in the hole, or too small for the hole?

OK. If it's a 8mm, what is the pitch of the thread? 0.75 Fine, 1.00 Fine or 1.25 Coarse.

"some mod or whatever PM's me and tells me my posts are negative and insensitive" "now i dont mean all people from gen vibe, but those who frequent the site know who im talking about" back to the point8mm is too big6mm is too big1/4inch wont fit as far as fine/coarse thread, the selection at lowes is limited in this size...like the only 6mm bolts they had were 1 inch long, thats itso im just going to hit the dealer in the morning and get themtired of screwing with it...haha pun intended

If you have a set of Vernier Calipers or 0-1" Micrometer measure the OD of the screw and post your results. We can tell you what the size is and get this cleared up.

I just checked my parts list, it doesn't get than in-depth on the roof rails unfortunately. Gives me every part # except that. Go figure.

yeah, that's the thread. Would be funny if he ran back over there to cry about how we weren't being nice to him. whatever. I'm still curious what size the bolts are, even though I have no plans to remove my roof rack, it is one of the reasons I chose a Vibe over a Matrix. I have tried to pull the end caps off though, but I guess I'm not strong enough, or I'm doing it wrong and afraid of breaking it.

Tell them specifically what you are looking for. Some dealers seem to have access to detailed screw info. One dealer I went to was able to give me a replacement screw based on info given to him by the parts system. So if you tell them roof rack, they may not have *the* identical screw on hand, but they might be able to give you an equivalent out of their parts bin.

so first I'm "handicapped", and now I'm a "baby" since you're into the name calling, I'll say what I think. You're right, it's just a message board, and not church, and you're just some punk kid who can be tough while sitting at a keyboard. Even so, it did bother me when you pissed on this site and this site's moderators over on your preferred forum. Perhaps when you grow up you'll learn about respect, of which you offer none. You seem get more here than I think you've earned.
