I agree... difficult to clean (bugs stuck in there are almost impossible) but it looks really good when you do it right. No tips really... just a very time consuming task, but well worth it.

I just use a wide, very soft bristle brush and my regular car wash soap. The bristles are about 3 inches long so they get all the way into the honeycombs. It works great and it takes no time at all.
