Glad to see you guys are still doing the Ohio meets. If I wasn't busy that weekend, I'd roll up to say hi to the Vibe folks......of course, now I'm spending all my spare time frequenting VW gatherings... here's a pic of my car from a local Southwest Ohio VW BBQ this past weekend...

I didn't see anything on their web site to prevent people under a certain age from getting a room like I did at Michigan where it said there had to be at least one 21+ occupant... If you have a check card or something you should be able to reserve a room with that, if the problem is not having a credit card. Otherwise, I'd just call the hotel directly and assure them that you are coming by yourself, since age limits are basically to prevent wild high school parties in the rooms I think.

Is the web site not letting you get a reservation as it is? Don't remember seeing anything about age...I could be wrong though. If it lets you get one straight up off the web site, I'd just do it that way.

hells bells. after much consideration, i decided that going to this meet would be foolish on my part from a financial standpoint. ironically, it is this very car that taught me the importance of smart investing.

it's not that i dont have the money. i have discussed with poopy via IM my problem. i try to keep my checking account at a certain level, because crap happens and i want to have the money if i need it. i figured this trip would cost me around $500 after all is said and done, and considering it would take me quite a while to replace that dent, i just dont know if it is worth it. i really want to go bad, but its hard to convince myself.you'd all be surprised, im actually pretty shy in person when i first meet people. takes me a little bit to get warmed up.

I've made optomistic reservations in anticipation of coming...I put in for the days off, but found out I'll likely be moved to my new store the week of the meet...Hoping I can still get off, but we'll see. Stay tuned...If I DO come, be ready, for the RagingVibe will be running almost entirely RagingStock.

ColonelPanic and I have a reservation for Saturday night at the "official" hotel and will be heading over from my apartment in Oxford on Saturday morning. Going to be an interesting week, since I move into my apartment on that Monday right before the meet, but we're definitely coming!

I just found out that I'm not going to be able to go to the meet, my sister's due date for her baby is Aug. 16 and my parents want me to be there for some reason so they don't want me going out there. BUT, if she has the baby before then, they say I can go. I'm really ticked off. I was looking forward to it

That happens for almost every meet -- but on the other hand, we often get Vibe owners that show up that don't even RSVP so it equals out most of the time.

Hey I might be interested in going to this meet. I am new to the forum and would like to hook up with some guys that enjoy the same passion for the vibe that I do. So put me down as a maybe. I am trying to juggle a few things around that time but I am very interested in meeting some of you guys and seeing what things that you have done to your vibes. I have alot of things that I have just bought for mine to install before then but shouldn't be a problem.

Well folks, sadly, as of this moment, I must write myself off as a no-show for this meet. Unfortunately, I was given sat and sun off, but not Friday. The salt in the wound is I have to close the restaurant friday night, which means getting out between 2-3 am. I could not conceivably do an 8 hour drive at that point, and even with stopping, would not get into ohio with enough time to actually rest and enjoy myself.I'm trying to talk another manager into taking that shift for me in exchange for one of hers, but until I get a firm ok on that, I have to say ragingfish will be absent.

Sorry y'all, ragingfish is OUT!I dropped some hints tonight about possibly switching shifts with another manager, and the feedback I got was not overly positive. Thus, in the best interest of my job, and my income, I won't risk irritating anyone by asking for the night off. Sadly, I will be missing my first Ohio meet ever, and likely the last meet before the Vibe gets traded, but unfortunately, we's do what's we's need to do.
