Right now it's working consistently, haven't had problems with it not hibernating or problems coming back from hibernation.I'm waiting for the next versions of Centrafuse to come out. I'm still on 1.4, I think it's out up to 1.6, but 1.6 has issues, and annoyingly enough, they've been working on adding more and more features, all the while pulling away from the look and feel that brought me to it in the first place!But..whatever. So yeah, mostly waiting on the software to see how that goes. I still need to get another DVD-ROM in there, and I still want to add some cameras somehow, but my focus is on paying bills (and back-paying bills..heh..) at the moment. It's still rockin! And as for screen, I have the TSV700 (I think that's what it is) by TView. Got it off eBay for around $200. Not so great in direct sunlight, but most of them suck in direct sunlight anyway. It is a touch screen though. I had to modify the screen (rather than the radio bezel) to make it work, but I think it turned out well.

Hey Hope!I hope (no pun intended) you're getting paid for those graphics on your car!Actually..if they had that available around here, i'd probably do the same thing.. Though maybe with a little bit of 'spiced up' stuff..heh.

The direct sunlight thing has me concerned. I know that the TSV700 is a fantastic screen, but I live in Arizona...sunlight is what we get. I know that in order to see the screen well in the Prius, Toyota has recessed the screen a little bit to provide some cover for it. Do you see this as being a feasible option?

Though maybe with a little bit of 'spiced up' stuff..heh.i am a commissioned sales person, so i guess yes. it promotes me over the next sales rep and so far, i've already gotten one sale from my graphics. right now, i'm still running into the power issue. i think i'm going to have to get a secondary battery to run it all off of so it doesn't kill my car battery. i left the rear modem and router on the other day for 11 hrs (forgot to turn it off or go start the car during mid day) and it was dead dead dead! plus, the PC itself isn't starting up. it has power to it, but i don't think enough. the green light flashes but nothing happens when i push the power button. the last time it did that, it was underpowered. i have a lot of USB items plugged into it, and it's only 1.1 USB so i'm thinking that's the reason it's killing my power off the 12 v, even with the direct connect to the battery.

You get a power controller yet, or you just doing direct connect and manually turning it on and off?I have everything running through a shutdown controller, plus i'm using an external 5v power supply for all my USB stuff. (An extra XM MyFi power supply works great, 2 amps @ 5v!)

It might take a little more work on your part in fabricating, though. All I did was dremel off the bottom of the screen casing (the part with the buttons), and it fit perfectly behind the dash bezel, then I turned the buttons sideways and mounted them beside the screen. If you have time or skills, you could simply mount the screen back half an inch or so.OR...if you're up for experimenting, get a brighter backlight source. That seems to be met with more success. Take a look at the LCD forum over at mp3car.com

Just get a shutdown controller. Seriously..I got mine for like $50, but you could probably do better. It'll do you a LOT of good.

Augh! Just jump into things without doing research why don'tcha!Shutdown controllers act like the ACC hookup for an aftermarket radio. It usually will do a sequential startup, if needed, when you turn power on for the car. It comes with relays so you hook that to the battery, and your computer to it.On the flipside, when you turn the car off, it sends the 'Shutdown/sleep/hibernate' signal to your computer by connecting to the power switch connector on the motherboard. You set windows to tell your computer to hibernate (or sleep, depending on the controller) when the power button is pressed, and it 'shuts it down'. It then turns off the computer and accessories. Some computer power supplies (that they have over at mp3car.com) already have these features built in, and will actually allow you to suspend your computer instead of hibernating (it's still 'on' when it's suspended), PLUS, it will automatically cut power to the computer when your battery's voltage gets too low.
