Dealer window tint cost?

Post by RumMunkey »

What can I expect to pay for the privacy tint on a new 2005 Vibe (put on by my dealership)? Anybody out there get this done? Do you remember what you paid? Am I crazy even to ask?EDITED to correct typing with my big fat salami fingers, and again because I said "FActory" and I meant "dealer".

I'd recommend going strait to a tinting business and expect to pay around $130-175 depending on their rates...A dealer will be more of course...

Just go to a local tint shop, and hope prices arent insanely high where you are.Got 20% on our '05 for $120, with lifetime warranty.

Yeah, i'd trust local shops over a dealership. For all we know, that's what they might send it to, anyway.

My local shop just gave me a quote of $180 for 5 windows (in NJ, you cannot have tinting on the front doors.)

I knew someone that had their front windows tinted, and they got pulled over EVERY time they went through Manville! It wasn't even that much of a tint!

I would like to echo the statements about finding a local tint shop to take care of it for you. Ask around and see who is good in your area. It'(removed) or miss sometimes, so see if you can dig up as much as you can about them before you pay their shop a visit. To tint the Vibe with 35% all the way around and with the strip at the top of the windshield as well was $160. I paid a bit more than I would have elsewhere, but I made it a point to find someone who uses the best quality of materials and has very sharp attention to detail. It paid off bigtime, so much better than the last tint job that set me back $140.

I called five different places locally, and don't think I got a quote under $200...

I paid $195 and had estimates well over $200. I think alot of it has to do with where you live. Tint in Floridia is probably cheaper than in the North. Compitition!

I paid $160 for everything but the windshield. Lifetime gaurantee against peeling and bubbles.

Thanks. I'm done now. I got a few quotes in the $230 - $280 range (Toronto, Canada), but came up with an excellent little place that did it for $199 plus $25 for anti-scratch.They did a very good job of it too.
