Anyone in Berkley, Royal Oak, Madison Heights (Michigan) or Vicinity with a Magnaflow???

Post by SilverExpress »

I'm really contemplating on purchasing a Magnaflow cat back for my '05 Vibe (base), but I'd like to hear it first and at least take a ride in a Vibe with one. Anyone in Royal Oak, Birmingham, Berkley, Beverly Hills, Michigan with one? I can meet you anywhere on Woodward (infamous Woodward Cruise street)...say between 11:00 am - 12 pm Mon, Tues, or Wed this week. Will be in Grayling for business rest of the week.I had a TRD on my VVT-i Prizm, did not like it at all. It was loud, and had that annoying drone at highway speeds. It sounded more like a muffler with a hole in it when I was stopped and idling.

Hello Waxler and Brian, Thanks for the replies. Brian, is that a Borla cat back or just the muffler? I'm more interested in the Magnaflow (cheaper). But it's nice to know another Vibe owner who's done mods nearby! Waxler, yup, let me know when you get it installed. I definitely want to hear it. I called S&K in downtown Royal Oak, the guy said he'll install and weld for $60/hr - you bring in the parts. Are you planning on doing it yourself?

I'm not to far away. 11 mi and Greenfield area. I checked out Borla's website, and they don't make a catback for the base Vibe...doh. Anyhow, I was suprise to see that it was $100 less for the GT as compared to the Magnaflow (MSRP of course). My neighbor just had a baby, and the kid's room faces my driveway. It's one reason why I'm looking for something just a tad bit quiet at idle and low rpms (backing up...etc).

The Magnaflow on my '05 is pretty quiet. Only under heavy throttle does it seem a little loud from inside the car. It's a lot tamer than I expected. I was kinda disappointed at first, but I like it now.Oh, I work for GM and I'm in Warren quite a bit if you wanted to see it.

Hello, Yes, definitely! Will you be at the Tech Center anytime this week? I actually work at Pontiac's Central Campus (PCC). Are you by any chance at that location at some times of the week?
