Happy New Year Everyone! My wife and I are wondering if anyone has had any problems with their power door locks (or windows). Our '05 has been acting up a bit, not locking, or unlocking when it should. it's been very intermittent.I'm wondering if it might be because of the new auto locking system on the '05's, our old '03 never had these problems. Also, I've noticed the cd player sometimes starts over on track one when we start the car, after it had been playing on other tracks before. And a couple of times, we've had to eject and then reinsert a disc to get it to play, again something we never had happen with our '03. We sure miss our old salsa two tone!

My stereo plays up sometimes. I'll be playing a cd and it will switch to radio, not often but it is annoying when it happens. No problem with the power locks or windows although it would be nice to have auto up as well as auto down. I have an '03 so maybe it is something particular to the '05's

It's extremely difficult to accidentally hurt themselves with paddle style controls.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Offhand, sounds like some sort of wierd power issue..like something's loose...

Thanks ragingfish. I'd hate to come out in the morning and find all these kids with their heads jammed in my window. Seriously though that is a good point.
Simon,Regarding skipping from CD to radio, see if the <TRAF> symbol is lit on your radio faceplate when it happens. In the event of an RDS 'ALERT' message (pretty rare) or an RDS 'TRAF'fic signal sent by an FM station (major metro areas), it will AUTOMAGICALLY switch from CD to a strong FM station that has enabled the <TRAF> RDS signal, even if they're not broadcasting traffic info AT THAT MOMENT...For detailed info on RDS, look in the in the Vibe owners manual in the Audio System (Section 3) about RDS. "TRAF (Traffic): Press this button to seek to a stationthat broadcasts traffic announcements. TRAF willappear on the display. If no station is found, NO TRAFwill appear on the display. When a traffic announcement comes on the currentstation or on a related network station, you will hear it,even if the volume is muted or a compact disc isplaying. If the compact disc player is being used, playwill stop during the announcement."
My 2003 Vibe Base Auto 2-tone Salsa "SalsaWagon" was built in May 2002. I acquired it in Feb 2004/Traded it in on a 2016 Honda HR-V in Feb 2018.
<Also, I've noticed the cd player sometimes starts over on track one when we start the car, after it had been playing on other tracks before.> I thought this was a quirk with my Vibe. It does this every-once-in-a-while. Can't figure out why.

There may be a memory lose in your radio, I have come across it intermit with several vehicles, none that were Vibes though. As for the auto down and up funtion, I never liked it myself regardless of the "safety" issue. I'll lower my window a little, not to the bottom but with auto down I'd have to fiddle with the switch to get it to stop. Same with auto up. To much switch hitting imo. But some people like them.

Have yet to have a problem with my radio, one cd did skip but I think it might have been the cd, I never checked. Never had any issues with the auto down either except it seems more sensitive in the 05 than the 03 I had, but no big deal.I will say how much I HATE how when you turn the car off ALL of the doors open in the 05. That ticks me off. I hate how all of the doors unlock like that because it's not very safe. I never did understand the thinking behind that in other cars and now it makes me angry that it's like that in this one.

You can change this, we did when we first got our new vibe. We changed the setting so the doors auto lock when you shift into drive. you can also set it to do nothing if you want, read your manual to learn the process, it's rather involved as i recall. john

Refer to this for reprogramming your power door locks on the '05... Looks like you would want "Mode 1" to lock the doors automatically and only unlock when you want them to...http://forums.genvibe.com/zero...s.png

When you push the power window button for the drivers window it has two positions. If you press it a little the window will travel until you release the button. If you push it all the way down then you need to jiggle the button to stop the window where you want it to.Hope this makes your window use a little easier.
