Just happened by Gill Pontiac, E. Broad St., Cols, OH; there were 12 Vibes on the lot. Evidently no shortage here. Also - the BP Gas said $1.54 9/10; when I stopped the pump was $1.52 9/10. Plus I get a 3% rebate on my BP Visa. The norm seems to be $1.69 9/10.

I thought 1.52 9/10 wasn't bad. Just got back from Wilmington, NC where prices were 1.47 9/10 to 1.58 9/10 and there's a major refinery off line in Ohio due to the black out. In 1967 I made a good income of about $10,000 a year as a Pharmacist. I bought a new Deville Conv. for $5,700. Gas was 33 cents. The Deville has gone up about 8x and gas 4.6x. Pharmacist pay up about 8x. AND even the Deville gets better mpg than my '67. Of course the VIBE probably gets twice the mpg of that '67 Deville. IMO gas is still a relative bargain at 1.60.

See... http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=5256 I won't be at the meet - those things really are not my cup of tea (or mug of beer). Plus if I came I might be tempted to bring my VIBE's garage mate - a PT.

Back in the summer of 99, we hit a low of $0.55 a gallon. Yes, you read right. 55 cents a gallon. There were gas wars between two stations. One went down, the other went lower, the first went even lower, and so on. It was on all the NY and PA news stations...I filled up every day just because I wanted to get as much as I could for the price!!!Missing those days...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
If you normally paid $0.50, and then it went up to a $1.00, you'd complain too...when I travel, I'm shocked by the high prices...It's hardly complaning...simply expressing my sadness that prices eventually go up...

When I started driving they hadn't invented gasoline yet ...Prices have been going up here this past week, best I can find is $1.559/USgal. (87)Anyone see the news about the gas lines in AZ? Got penty of gas here.If gas became as expensive here in the colonies as it is in Europe, you'd see a lot of people trading in their SUVs for Vibes.
I think the other factor is that Labor Day is around the corner. Lots of people will be driving. The price her in the Denver area is about $1.63. I haven't seen $1.25 in 3 or 4 years.

I just paid $1.969/gallon at the Chevron in southern Ohio and the Shell was charing $1.999/gallon. Not much of a difference between 87 and 93 octane now.
