Hey folks,My hubby and I have been to a dealership in Oshawa, and Whitby plus called a few places trying to get a good quote on a Base Vibe with moon and tunes, power and safety package and so far the best quote we got was $1000 off of the total price. Has any one on this forum (from Ontario) been able to get any good deals from their dealerships. I was told that they don't budge much with the price because the Vibes are in high demand...
quote: I was told that they don't budge much with the price because the Vibes are in high demand...That's a lie. It is NOT the demand that is high. The supply is WAY too low. Don't buy that garbage from the dealer. Are you looking at a 2003 or 2004? Are you a GM employee? GM Canada is intentionally starving the Canadian market and giving Canadian factory orders extremely low priority. A 6 month wait or longer is not unusual. GM would rather sell you a sunfire or a Grand Am. Has the salesman tried to steer you to either one yet? Tell them you'll try to get a Matrix or a Ford Focus or a Saturn ION. (removed) on the rug in the showroom before you leave.
Is that $1000 off a 2003 model or 2004? If you are buying a 2003 model, you should already be getting $1000 off with 0% financing. Also if you have a non-GM vehicle in the household, you should be able to get another $750 off. I think it's called the Conquest discount and you don't have to trade in that vehicle either. Are you in the Oshawa/Whitby area? If so, come to our Vibe meet this coming Sat. (Aug 23rd at 1:00 p.m.).
If they are only giving you $1000 of you are going to get robbed. You should easily get $2000 plus. Don't buy it from them if they do not give you over $2000. It is a buyers market and dealerships will go that extra mile to get your business. Be careful what some of the clowns on this forum may tell you. You could say I am a clown too. I could be but I also work at the circus (GM) and some of these clowns think they know it all.
Just here to lend a hand to people who have questions about their Vibe.
Hey I went to Gus Brown dealership as well and I left thinking that maybe these guys did not care to sell me a car. The sales guy that was dealing with me had such a lack of enthusiasm... I was surprised that he actually let me do a test drive hmmmm!!! Generally I have been trying to get pricings on the 2004 vehicles. I hear that it is next to impossible to find a 2003 unless it is used.Unfortunatley I will not be able to make it to the Vibe meet because I am working the night shift that day... Would have been so cool to meet some vibe owners and get more feedback on the vehicle. To answer RoundUp... I used to live in Oshawa with my parents only 2 months ago. So I visit quite often even though I live little far now.
It is too bad that you can't make it to the meet this Saturday. I was pretty lucky when I bought my Vibe. I didn't have time to shop around and went to only two dealers in Toronto. The first one was really nice. The salesman at the second one was horrible and quoted a price that was $2000 more than the first. (Mind you I bought a 2003 just before the 2004's were out.) When I told him what the first dealership had offered me, he accused them of lowballing. Even so, he matched the price that the first dealer had offered. Since this guy was downright rude, I just went back to the first dealership. I've had no regrets. I got exactly what I wanted on time and at the quoted price; they also didn't pester me into getting extras that I didn't want.So there are good dealers out there. Don't settle. I am sure you will find one that suits you.
