The following pictures I am about to post need the biggest warning on them that I can express. These photos of a horrific automobile accident are not for anybody w/ a weak stomach. These photos are a stretch for a STRONG stomach. I AM WARNING YOU!! I post these b/c I think people should see what unsafe driving can lead too. I honestly believe that through education we can "scare" people into being sensibly safe. I'm not saying don't ever exceed the posted speed limits b/c I know in certain places you would be more at risk if you weren't over the limit and with the flow of traffic....but there is a difference between that and ridiculously unsafe driving. Another thing I want to mention is that these photos are not mine....they have been posted on a number of forums on the web and please do not flame me for posting them here.....you do not have to view them if you choose not too. I bow to the men and women who have to deal with accidents and situations like this on a daily basis. You are such stronger people than I could ever hope to be. Warning: graphic fatality accident photos. If you even think for a second that you might not be prepared to view these then DON'T FOLLOW THE LINKS!!!If these photos can make one person a safer driver then they have served an amazing duty.If you have reached this point and have decided to continue then please make certain you are the only person in view of your computer screen (I don't want kids to run into the room and lose sleep for months!)FINAL WARNING!

Those will be closed casket funerals for sure. From the looks of it, it was a head on collision, which is weird because it is a white lined road. Any guess to where this took place, the plates do look like US plates if you see the van in one of the later pics.A lesson to be learned for sure.
You can guess he won't be learning his lesson from that one That would be one very horrific crash, I believe I have a strong stomach as I am eating pizza while viewing those but I know if I had been there, the smells, the sights... I would be throwing up.Obviously we know the cause but was there into information as to how it all happened?Thats just sad...

No, unfortunately I don't know any more about the accident. I just don't know how paramedics and such can do the jobs they do. The forum that I got the pics from was suprising b/c there were quite a few people who stated that they themselves or someone close to them sees worse than this on a daily basis in their fields of work. I can believe that but what is so amazing to me is how they can deal with it day in and day out....once would be more than enough for me......I wouldn't be able to stop thinking about these poor victims and the horrific situations i had seen. Many of you know im an avid mountain biker and out just excersising and playing around through campus one night a guy who rides in the club jumped a staircase and went over and landed on the side of his face.....teeth were laying on the pavement and he was in a pool of blood.....we did what we could but didn't want to move him too much but soon enough we had the paramedics there and they for the most part took over and then had him air-lifted to the a hospital 30 miles away. A very rough night and he turned out to have fairly minor injuries and was back in school 2 weeks later. i can't imagine going through situations 10 times worse on a daily basis.....thats unbelieveable to me.....folks that can do this really are heros.

The models of vehicles in the photos aren't available in the US, and probably not in Canada, either. The car went 3/4 of the way under a cab-over semi. That's not going to be pretty at any speed.Oh, and that was not a sport compact car. It was a mid-size 4 door sedan.

I am surprised that they didn't put him in a body bag. He is pretty much mush like someone said though and by the looks of it looks like a WRX or something there abouts. I would be wrong though

Judging by the vehicles used by emergency personel, the backgrounds, and the people around the scene -- I'd say we're probably looking at shots from Africa somewhere -- likely South Africa or one of the surrounding countries.Welcome to small, light, fast car meets big, slow, massive truck.Ouch.

Honestly, I saw the first two and stopped. I don't know if it gets worse. I don't like images lingering in my mind either. I was also eating, but screw the appetite it's shot now. Good thing for the warning.

There was an article in Car & Driver last year regarding the extremely high rate of carjackings in and around Johannesburg, S. Africa. Unfortunately, accidents like the one in the pictures above are pretty commonplace there, due to the police chases. When I was in the military, we had a few classes on drunk-driving prevention, and they would show similar types of photos to get the point across. Graphic? You bet, but those photographs are still fresh in my memory, even though it's been 8 years or so, and I've never driven drunk, in part thanks to those classes.I guess "shock" therapy can work.

Thanks for the warnings. As I sat and looked at these pictures, I flashed back to an assembly we had in high school. The flight for life nurses from Chicago (they were going around the country talking to high schools) brought in very graphic photos like these of teenagers. They were primarily focusing on what would happen when you drove drunk. One of the most graphic pictures I remember was of a girl who had gone out over the hood of her car and face down, down the road (they estimated she was traveling about 75-mph when she left her car). Obviously, her entire face was gone, all that was left were her teeth and eyes. Believe it or not, she lived. Those pictures left a very vivid memory in my head, as will these.

Africa.Yes, this problem had gotten so bad that there were places that you could take your car to have propane fueled jets attached to the underside of your car below the front doors. When the carjacker approached with the gun, you just had to flip a switch and barbeque 'em. We need more kickass goodies like that here in the states.

Yep, along with spring loaded metal bars strong enough to break a person's leg installed on the underside of cars there as well.Someone tries to carjack you, hit the button, and they go down screaming.
