ok, i am one of those people that decided to wait until the very last moment to file my taxes. luckily in the state of alaska, we have no state income tax so one less thing to worry about. well, as usual, i like to use turbo tax.so being home sick today i decided i had better get this done. filled out all the little prompts and templates, answered the 100+ questions and then get some good news. i actually get a refund this year! yay! not a norm for me at all. i generally have to pay a minimal amount each year. well, this year i get some money back because they boinked me in taxes! so, i go to file my taxes electronically and it won't let me. kept saying that my child dependant tax credit is missing info... ok, i don't have a child or dependant. that's wierd. so i got back and go thru the questions again... no child, no dependant. try again. still same thing. ok... now i'm getting a little frustrated.so i go to the little help icon and it says that on my w2 form that i have a dependant... so i look and see that there is a spot in line 10 that they screwed up... so i erased it. still same thing. now i'm really really pissed.... 45 mins later and still same thing. so i say screw this in many a colorful words and languages, and just print for review. well then the computer dies in the middle of my print job. won't come on at all... so at that point, i head downstairs to pummel my punching bag because i'm ready to go postal!and yes, i have anger issues... lol is it me, or do other people have similar frustrations while filing taxes? this should be easy too!
so after i calmed down, i waited until the folks got home so my dad, who has soooo much more patience than i, figure out how to delete the form... after much research he figured it out and it went thru like a champ. apparently, the power cord wasn't plugged in and so the battery died.... i was worried that i broke it since i was hitting things nearby....
I did my taxes back in January. I got a good sized return, so I was happy with that. I can understand wanting to wait to file if you owe money, but since I never end up owing, I file right away to get my cash back ASAP
I got the the end of april but have been trying to get them done early with no success. I usually have a place do them for me since I don't know what I'd be doing lol but their hours are worse then a bank.

Maybe going postal is exactly what you should do! Just geta good 'ole paper form and drop it in the mail! I am still one of the paper filers stuck in the dark ages! Its quicker for me to fill out the form then to play with it on the computer, as I am sure I would run into the same kinds of problems you did!
well, usually i owe money but it's minimal. this year w/ the tax cuts and the fact they took so much out of my checks, i actually GET money back! whoo hoo! just in time for summer! got some trips and vacations planned... so will be good to have some extra spending money for things to do.
