Thanks, trd, that's what I wanted to hear. Did you ever get the rear seat covers installed?

The'03,'04 looks much more aggressive. The new front end is too generic.

With that remodel they have officially alienated everyone under that age of 65!!!! Way to go dip sh*ts. I don't know about you guys but that redesigne makes me ALMOST regret getting the Vibe now. In a few years everone is going to think about the Vibe as the Sports Wagon that COULD HAVE BEEN. We were on track with aggessive styling and sporty looks and then they go to the drawing board and made her a geriatric vehicle. That new front makes it look like a grocery getter. I hate you GM........ Oh wait I already did.

another vote against the nose here.....hmmmnn...maybe we need a poll?I was so hoping that the new front end would have mitsu lance evo influence. The vibe is probably the only vehicle that could pull off an aggressive EVO inspired (and slightly copied) design b/c it is the only car that has a similar grille design. The evo has a very similar grille with the center piece dropping down. Of course the EVO has a big intercooler to stuff behind that bumper but im sure pontiac has the skills to give the vibe the same aggressiveness.......they just dont have the balls to actually do it. i think they fear that soccer moms wont like it......arrghh!

I also do not like the new front end- It looks like a minivan now!I still do love the gauges and the availability of leather seatsBut the new front end in my opinion will make the Vibe so that younger people will not want it and then we will have less after-market parts for our cars! Booooooo to the new front end boooooooooo!

I also am not too keen on that new front end. By dulling it up like that, maybe GM heard too many complaints about the 3 month waiting period on the new ones, and decided to decrease sales. Thats the only explanation I can think of.

I do not like that front end! I agree that it really makes it look like a minivan. Why did they do that?! Our 03s and 04s look a lot more agressive. I like the leather and other new options, but not that bland, boring, generic front! I'm really happy I got my 2003 model GT. I mean, they lowered the HP slightly and changed the gages in 2004 which I do not like. Now they restyled the front for 2005, not my style.Later,

Now that I'm comparing it to the GXP, the top half looks pretty close, but the lower just does not do it. I think the GXP looks great: I think the GXP front sticks out more, sleeker, more of a point. The 2005 looks more flattened, blunt, like a minivan. The lower portion of the GXP also looks awesome. Hope GM eventually makes a GXP model with that front end.

It doesn't look that bad......I'd have to reserve judgement until I see it in person....I know quite a number of cars that I've seen in pictures that have surprised me with how much better they looked first hand.....

I agree. There have been many cars recently that I have not liked in pictures, but have really liked in person (example: the current Ford Mustang).

'05 - '03/4 Front End chop as requested...

Post by oolunchbox »

i too am in agreement that the new front end is no good, maybe theyre hoping to turn people off with it to boost the GXP sales( hey it could happen). anyhow here's a half-a$$ed chop of the '05 with the '03/4 "nose"

Good chop there, oolunchbox Upon closer look, I have to disagree that the new nose makes the Vibe look like an minivan... I think that nose certainly don't belong on a Vibe nor a Montana. The new Montana looks aweful with that nose too, Grand Prix, Grand Am and maybe GTO are the only cars that suit this nose.

The redesign recalls the Aztek experience -- distinctive car, but too weird for mainstream conservative buyers. Vibe was a better design to start with, but I suspect they want to move Vibe more mainstream and appeal to the conservative wideassed boatdrivers GM seems to favor. Sorry to see GM revert to old habits.

Maybe this is sign. this could be the base and put more distinction in to the GT...or maybe, just maybe the GXP! We could only hope, 'cause God knows that thing is just a down right shame.I do like the monotone style interior, though...along with the leather.

And I'm still looking into buying a 1966 Cadillac Fleetwood anyway because I love the huge old GM cars. Nothing like a car 19 feet long and weighing over 5000 pounds. Except maybe the 429 or 472 V8 powering it.

I would like to repeat what I said before:Jim Bunnell, Pontiac-GMC general manager. "It is bringing to the showrooms new buyers who previously didn't consider Pontiac - or, often, any other GM vehicle. The Vibe is our number one conquest vehicle, which means these new buyers aren't currently driving a GM vehicle."Looking good or not, the biggest mistake Pontiac makes with the new front end that look like every other Pontiac, this turns non-GM buyer off !! You need a unique look if it is to be a number one conquest vehicle !!

I've seen the 05 in person, and I have to say give it a second chance in person. It looks better in person than in photos, I actually thought it looked better than the 03-04.

I like my car just as it is....but the console lighting is nicer than the red we have...but I still wouldn't trade mine in for a new one. My Big_Red is rugged and damn it I love it.

Are they changing the color of the console lights in the '05? I must have missed that.

I'm not sure I care for the new nose either, but don't forget... GM seems to always do a lousy job of photographing their new vehicles. They always choose the blandest colors and boring lighting. They really need to hire new PR people or photographers or something.I bet if we saw it in person or in a different color it wouldn't look quite so dull.Just me hoping though... maybe it really just sucks!

perplexing picture, had to think about that one for a while, but I get it. Won't spoil it for everyone though.hint - the triangles are not the same slopeEven with the changes, It is still a nice looking car. I do like the current nose better, but the change isn't the end of the world

Ok I will get on the bandwagon, I really hate the new front end, and previous people have said before it looks like a mini van. I love the way that my 04 looks. I do like my gauges over previous years though better colors. and what really are the changing inside the availability of leather, or should I say GM pleather unless you get a CAddy. I had leather in my other vehicles and if I want it back I will spend the 600 bucks to get the Katskins kit.Ok one thing that I do like is the Subwoofer. But that is me though. I prefer subtle sound over bodacious stuff. Well there is my two cents. Later

Ditto on not liking the front end. I liked the aggresiveness of my wife's 04. Oh well, it'll be years before we buy a new vehicle...I do like the leather, onstar, and side airbags feature. Shows GM took a gamble with the car that is paying off and they are now adding options to it. It implies GM plans on keeping the car around for a while.
