The install was easy until I got to installing the filter on to the tube. I think that the new part # for the Vibes is a joke. It does not fit over the fog lite with out pushing it up high on the tube. I think that it is the same tube as the Toyotas use but with a Vibe part#. I can hardly wait until I have to clean the filter next year! The car runs well and no cell lights. Low end is better. The car is not too loud unless you really put you foot into it.
If the filter fell right on top of the fog light, you have the Matrix intake, not the Vibe intake.A special one was recently released for the Vibe that relocates the filter off the fog assembly.Sounds like you might have ordered (or been sent) the wrong intake.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
If that was the case they put it into the wrong box.The box has the correct part # and says the it is for a Vibe. The tube is too long to install the filter correctly. I think that it is the Toyota intake. I am going to contact Ptuning and Injen and tell them about this problem.
After stuggling with it I got it to where it sits right on top of the fog light. If you look at it from above it is almost clamped near the curve of the tube. I would have thought that they would have shortened the tube to clear the light? I have already sent an email to Injen and Ptuning.
I am serious also. No, I have no intension of removing it and sending it back. I can get to it by removing only one clip on bottom panel. It does run great like it is. I put my 16" tires/rims back on for the winter. Doesn't look or handle as well but it is fun to loose 6lbs/wheel compaired to the 17" combo. It is fun to spin the tires again even with an auto.
I have thought about this before....when I heard the problems with the filter being so close to the fog lights. Couldn't you just use a hacksaw and cut a couple of inches off of the tube so the filter will slide up further....past the fog lights?Jim

I could have. But by the time I had realized it every thing was already installed. The best way would to use a pipe cutter to get a clean cut. I am happy the way it runs. Low end is much better. Great for an auto! Except for putting on the filter it was an easy install.
Ptuning responded back same day. I am impressed with their customer service. Good company! It will be interesting to see what happens to the mpg. with the cai and the oem 16" back on the car. I figure that the 17" cost me about 3 mpg. Some of that could be the speedo being off-slow.
