I'm seriously getting so pumped for next weekend. I feel like its the prom or something! Everyone just keeps hyping it up big time. I've never owned a car like this where enthusiasts come together from 8 HOURS AWAY. On behalf of everyone from Ohio, thanks NY and NJ guys, you are seriously dedicated to loving Pontiac Vibes. Does anyone attending the meet have the body kit or the spoilers? I still haven't seen them in person. I've scoured every Genvibe picture of them but i'm prayin someone there will have them!Looking forward to meeting everyone!
I SINCERELY apologize for not also giving recognition and respect to our northern neighbor females. I look forward to repeatedly apologizing in person.....
I can't wait to meet everyone! Of all things that could happen... I got my work schedule for work next week and they have me working on the day of the meet!!! Guess I won't be showing up (I'll be sick... cough, cough), considering I requested off that day over a month ago. UPDATE:Went and chewed out my boss today, just before I went to see Freddy vs. Jason, and he said I could have that day off anyway. So now I'll be at the meet for sure... and I don't even have to call in sick!!!
We were suppose to work the 16th but the power outage stopped part delivery to General Motors so no work, now they want to work next saturday. time and 1/2 v.s. vibe meet. Hmmmmmmm SEE EVERYONE SATURDAY!!!!! "all work and no play makes jack a dull boy"
I can thank my employer for this one. I can't make it, the MOTORS has us working that Saturday. If you all would make a drive out to Lordstown that would be great. I want to see that s/c Vibe.......
Wowie, I really hate to do this I'm going to have to de-list myself from the official roster of the Ohio meet Why? Well, I just recently moved on campus in a house with my 2 best friends, so that's what I have been doing for the past few days (if you've noticed that I haven't been posting much, it's been because I have been literally moving from when I wake up in the mornin' till I get back late night). Right now, getting things finished there as well as preparing for the upcoming school year are the #1 things on my priority list, I hope ya all don't mind So what does this mean? Well, I won't be able to make it out to Ohio. Will I be at other meets? If they are closer (it says 7 hours for Mapquest, but previously it's been closer to 9 or 10) I will try to get out. Next summer? Oh, just wait till you see what I got planned for mah baby! @ the Haus, I only have access to dialup, so I still won't be on as much as I normally am till we get the DSL installed (next week sometime) but things will return to their merry Geo-filled ways once that happens. In the meantime, let me say that I hope ya all have fun at Ohio, I won't be there in person, but you can bet that I'll be there in spirit
Sorry to hear that as well Geo.. Don't worry, there will be plenty of meets to attend in '04, maybe some alot closer for you as well.Have fun with the moving, it can be a pain and fun all-in-one.
Aight folks...since I seem to be the only one who will be in Zanesville Friday night (AtWork won't be in until 1 or 2 AM), are y'all meeting in Columbus (or the vicinity) the night before for dinner? Anyone interested in meeting up with me for dinner? Let me know guys...
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!

I'll be staying the night after the meet at the Hampton Inn-Dublin on Tuller Rd. $69 for the night and only 1/2 mile from the meet.

Well that just sucks Geo, but you have to get your priorities in order and school and a roof over your head are way ahead of the Ohio Meet. Hope to see you sometime in '04!
The days are counting down!If you haven't already RSVP'ed for this Saturday, please let us know so we can get an accurate count as possible.Forecast calls for FUN!
First, I'd like to bow and thank the academy...for though we'll miss you Geo, you're not coming automatically bestows upon me the honor of "FARTHEST TRAVELER." WOOHOOO!!!!SECOND:Don't make me turn this car around people!I ask again...WHO WILL MEET ME FOR DINNER FRIDAY NIGHT???
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
I would if I could Mike, but I am working that evening and driving up in the morning. Dinner after the meet is almost a guarantee though. I remember not too long ago when we took over a Michigan Applebee's that was fun!congrats on the "farthest traveler" not sure if that is good or bad though. Just remember to take your wallet out of your back pocket before the long drive. I left mine in my pocket for the drive up to the MI Meet and my leg almost fell asleep. - just a little tip -

Did I mention I'm willing to drive over to Columbus that nite for dinner too? Come on, there has to be AT LEAST one viber on here who will be in the area overnight and you KNOW you gotta eat...

It helps out a LOT, believe me. Take it from someone who has made many long trips with it in my back pocket. Without it is MUCH better! Plus you won't fall over when you stand up out of your Vibe at the meet... then we would all laugh at you. j/k!
Spoke with Jeff briefly this morning. He won't be able to make it as he is currently driving some vehicles back from California to Michigan and won't arrive home until Sunday. He said he really wanted to attend, but this came up during our scheduled date.I'll be taking some notes for him at the meet, so see me at the meet if you have any issues that are related to dealership service in particular. Also, you can contact me here as well with anything else.Looks like we have a little over 20 vehicles in attendance, and I would assume some people may show up unannounced, which is fine. The weather looks good, Partly Cloudy and temps near 80.I'll have more updates soon today.
Another Update:Spoke with the dealer. They will be ready for our arrival officially at 11:00am.CAR WASH: There is a touchless (or brushless, not positive) car wash right down the street from the dealer at the Marathon gas station. It is on the corner of Sawmill and Billingsley roads. It is fairly new and does a good job as I was told.I will be arriving at the dealer by 10:00am to get things situated, if anything. We should have our space cleared out towards the front of the main building, we will back in at the end of the parking lot with the rear of the vehicle facing I-270 (you can't miss it).... or just look for where you see everyone parked. Don't forget to bring everything you may need (cleaning supplies, tools, parts to install, food or drinks of your preference, chairs, etc.).If you weren't able to RSVP and still want to attend, please stop by and join us, even if you are just a spectator!Hope to see everyone there!
Very good! Just another FYI, I was told there will be a Celica meet just down the road (no exact details) at the same time as our meet. One of the people from that meet said they may stop over and check us out. I said that a few of us may also go down and take a look at theirs as well.
quote:We're not doin pizza nick? You know how it is getting $ from people, right? I will bring it up on Sat. and see the reaction. If not, I'm sure we can all just head somewhere to eat together.
Reminder: I am bringing the Vibe Cargo Organizer, if anyone feels they may be interested in purchasing one, come with cash in hand! Asking price is $80...Also, I know of at least two installs we have planned: AtWork's CAI on a GT, and my turn signal install...I am hoping someone can help me with that!Nick and anyone else -- come prepared with service manuals in hand.
YES!I still visit GenVibe periodically. I have not forgotten about my "original" family over here!
Sounds great about the install. I'm seriously excited to help out with the CAI install. Only one question though, is anyone bringing the most important tool for installations........(beer)? would it be inappropriate to bring a cooler full of cold ones for the rally? If nobody is opposed, I'll make it my priority.
quote:would it be inappropriate to bring a cooler full of cold ones for the rally? If nobody is opposed, I'll make it my priority.I told the dealership it would be dry - no alcohol. You're welcome to bring it but please don't consume it during the rally at the dealership. Also please don't drink and drive (you should already know that).I hope you understand. Thanks.
silver, i couldn't resist upping your offer. And as a response to you, nick, I completely understand. I'll leave the beer at home. I don't want this to be like my high school homecoming where a few have to sneak out and pound a few just to make it interesting. Should be plenty of fun without the brews, anywho! Who else is excited?!?!
If you guys see the NYPete-mobile take off for awhile and come back, you can probably bet I went to pound a few... haha... Looking forward to seeing everybody, looks like the ol ball and chain may be coming along too...!Pete

Guess I'll leave the beer at home as well... lol. Was going to bring a cooler full of assorted (non-alcoholic) drinks, but looks like AtWork has that taken care of. I'll still have a cooler anyway and will bring a little more, just in case. Just finished working on the Vibe, gettin' it all shiny and clean... I just hope I don't run into a bunch of bugs between now and then. An extra coat of wax on the front will help, I hope! Excited? Just a little... heck, I can't wait. Will be a fun time for all!!!
