dyno run

Post by lordyogi »

went to the Florida Charity Car meet yesterday, and put my GT up on the Dyno. At first the crowd was all like why is that thing goin up there since i was following a WS6, then it ran up and hit lift and was just screamin and people were impressed. i was personally impressed by the 162.1 fwhp that my car put down.

That's about right, an 18-hp loss through the trans. Good job.

hey no prob, there was also a matrix xrs with an auto tranny that only put down 136hp i was startled by the drastic difference in the power loss through the tranny.

That is a big difference for an automatic transmission. Does it really loose that much?

lordyogi has a CAI and an aftermarket exhaust. The XRS may not. That could explain the wider difference.

That's true. But that's almost a 50hp loss through the transmission. Granted there was an almost 30hp loss in the manual with all the mods, but can an automatic loose that much still?

the guy had the TRD intake and cat back exhaust on his car, so i was expecting numbers a little closer, but i think the dyno was off a bit anyway, some of the numbers that cars were putting up didnt seem exactly right. im gonna go eventually to a garage that dynos and get it done on a stationary dynojet instead of the portable mustang dyno to see if it was really accurate.yogi
