I'm not canadian, but I got one. 5 years/50,000 miles bumper to bumper. Cost a little over $1000 US. It includes a stipulation that if a dealer requires 2 or more hours to fix the car, they must provide me with a loaner vehicle. That was the main selling point for me. The warranty program is called GM Easy Care. Appearantly everything except normal wear items are covered. Also, if I sell or trade the car, the extended warranty can be transferred to the new owner or I get a pro-rated refund of the extension. I figured it would be worth it since the engines (particularly the GT engines) are pretty high-tech and would be costly to fix. Overall, I'm happy with it. Sorry, I don't know what is being offered in Canada.

What I have seen is that the GM extended warranty is not too bad. DO not get an extended warranty that the dealer offers. Verify what they are trying to sell you. Also, check to see if there is a deductable, and what is covered. The GM one is pretty much an extension of their 3 yr 36,000 mile warranty. Alot of the dealer ones are limited in coverage and have deductables that they try to apply to everything. I.E. applying the deductable more then once per repair.

I live in the US.I got a 5 year/75,000 miles bumper to bumper for around $850 US dollars.Does the price vary from dealer to dealer or is the price regulated by GM?

i got the warrantee 5/100,000kms for about 900 Can. I work selling automotive parts and for 1000 bucks over five years that is pretty cheap considering some fuel pumps, alternators, M.A.F. sensors, ignition control modules, computers, etc....can be 500 bucks just for the part, not counting the install. Also got 5 years roadside protection.
