Removing keyless entry/remote start
Good morning all. I bought a used 2005 Vibe Base with manual windows and locks last weekend and have been familiarizing myself with the vehicle this week. It turns out that the previous owner had keyless entry installed. It's a Code Systems unit that, as far as I can tell, was installed aftermarket. I don't have the fobs and really don't want the thing in the car anymore. But, I don't want to create problems and was hoping for some input as to whether or not it's easy to remove.I arrived here because I had also been kicking something under the dash that turned out to be a SYSlocate unit that was no longer functioning. That's been removed.Has anyone ever removed this or a similar unit? Is it just a matter of unplugging the connectors in the receiving unit and replugging them into their original mates? Or do these installs typically involve wire splicing that may be more a headache than I want right now?Thanks,Jason
