I am glad to see that the SC is closer to being released...and for those who read the matrix owners thread,..Matrix-T has the same turbo set up as me ....so what we need now is to have the 2zz vibe/matrix and the 1zz SC vibe/ matrix, and my turboed vibe, and someone spraying nitrous...would that be satur9?..in their vibe/matrix.....and lets have that race!...

It may be better than a Vibe GT, at least on a tighter circuit, I would say ANY Vibe isn't going to be all that great at autocross or roadracing. I really would like to race an S/C base Vibe from a stop, roll, high speed, low speed, and really get a feel for how they compare. It's all speculation at this point.Nova, I guess we will find out soon enough. One thing that concerns me is I don't think they would RATE the S/C at a higher horsepower than the Vibe GT, BUT I really wonder if they're sandbagging the number a bit. Depending on the volumetric efficiency of 1ZZ, going to 5-7lbs of boost could generate a fair bit more than the rated 30 or 40 horsepower increase. If that's the case, then the Vibe GT is in trouble as far as straight-line speed.Oh well, may just have to bust out the Vette then. haha...

The same 1ZZ motor in the Celica is rated at 140-hp and chassis dynos have shown that 1ZZ in the Vibe is probably also making that same 140-hp at the crank. So now add that conservative rating of 40-hp from the S/C and you are already at the GT's 180.

I would bet it's probably going to make closer to 190-200 hp at the flywheel and put down some pretty good power to the ground. If that ends up being the case, then an S/C base Vibe will definitely be faster than a GT. Oh well, you still can't rev to 8350rpm!!

I suspect it will be faster than a GT because of the torque but could be rated correctly because the air leaving the sc is hot and without an intercoller the full 10hp per lb of boost may not be available.
