Hello all,I just purchased a new to me 2007 Vibe base automatic. Before purchasing this I was a troll on this website learning all I could. My parents own a 2006 base model Vibe and love it. Before buying any vehicle I search the forums on those particular vehicles to see what I'm getting myself into. I have to say I'm almost disappointed with this forum. I can't find any major problems with these cars. I'm a troll on the Ford Super Duty, Pontiac Grand Am, Cadillac Seville, and Dodge Magnum forums. All of those cars have multiple problems and plenty to read about online. Which leads me to why I'm here. My 2007 has 207,000 miles. I bought it from the company I work for and it was used as a sales vehicle. It has had oil changes every 3-4k since new. But beyond that we use the "if its not broken, don't fit it" mentality. At 207k, what do I need to be doing. I won't flush the transmission at this point. I will do a coolant flush. Beyond that what should I look for? Everything suspension wise is tight . It doesn't leak a drop of oil and doesn't appear to burn any either. The brake and power steering fluid are clean. The only thing I can find wrong is an exhaust leak and a vibration after putting my aftermarket wheels on, which is my fault, not the cars. Welcome to GenVibe!!! Nice wheels, but sorry that we couldn't have more problems for you to solve. Since you appear to have maintenance records, it should be pretty obvious if you should be changing the spark plugs or serpentine belt. Beyond that, fill it up, drive it around, and take lots of pics!!!

Welcome to Genvibe,I am surprised that the Ford Trucks have issues (other then the engine fires from the cruise control in the 2005 and before)The reason for the other cars you were looking at had lots of issues is because they are GM and Chrysler products and over the last 30 years these companies made a lot of unreliable junk. It is not that the Asian car companies came in and undercut the Big Three in prices and that caused 2 of them to go to bankruptcy. It is because they made shoddy cars and Americans went out and bought reliable Asian cars.I would love to buy American when it comes to cars. A chance to support companies that keep the money in this country and which empolys American workers BUT if I have to sit in a dealership 6 or 7 times to get something fixed that should have never escaped off the line before it was fixed then I am buying a foreign vehicle.Now the reason the Vibe does not have any issues is because it is a Toyota(Yep GM's most reliable car from 2003-2010 was a Toyota made car)The things to look at on a 270K mile car are ball joints,CV axles, Condition of fuel filter and tank, plugs,wires, suspension, transmission. You sould think about a drain and refill for the trans. Don't flush it as that will cause it to fail. A drain and refill gets a lot of the old fluid out and allows you to put new stuff in(you never get all of it out due to the stuff in the convertor but enough will come out to refresh it

Welcome to GenVibe! It's awesome to hear that your Vibe has 207,000 miles and is still going strong! There are quite a few owners here who have 200,000+, 300,000+, even 400,000+ miles on their Vibes so your Vibe definitely has a long life still ahead of it.
