Toyota service or GM?

Post by 5speednightstand »

So my wife's vibe (09 30Kmiles) needs the ac fixed.I want the best value of time spent. Since it is mostly Toyota, my guess is they might get to the problem quicker. On the other hand if it winds up being the engine ECM, it would fall under the 8/80 warranty, and would be in theory, free. What do you all do?

Personally, neither... I'll neve have an AC problem in this vehicle! Seriously though, if it's under warranty, take it to the GM dealer. Toyota may fix it... or may give you the runaround...

IMHO, GM if it is under warranty. An independent shop that is familiar with imports if not. It's been my experience that Toyota dealers don't want to touch these vehicles, despite being a Toyota. Your experience may vary depending on the arrogance of the local Toyota place.

Hmm. Just out of the 3 year warranty by a couple months. Maybe an independent then.
