Little update

Post by mac99d »

Well I went to Tobz performance tuning in Denver today to run the car on the dyno and just clean up the tune a bit before I head to Texas for the Texas mile. He primary does Evo’s at his shop, but he said he would take a look at my car. So my put down 217ft torque and 270hp at the wheels. So that is close to 300hp out of a 1.8 stock block vibe. I was surprised because I did not expect the 40 horse jump I thought he might get me about 10 more or so was not even really looking to get more power out of it, but I will take it. Can’t wait to see what it does in Texas. So with that said.Whats your guess on what my top speed will be.

SWEET!!! Do you have the rev limiter removed? If so, I will guess 150mph, if not 135mph.

Those are some pretty impressive numbers! And I must say, you have quite the nice Vibe, and the lancer sitting next to it is stunning as well...

Here is a link http://www.texasmile.net/As far as the speed goes I am hoping for 140 to 150, and I get to run on Saturday and Sunday. Working on some plug inserts for the upper grill and putting on the body kit for some more aerodynamics. I am going to be running Nitto nto1 tires. I will have my Gopros when I run, one in the car, and hopefully one outside the car as long as it don’t blow off..lol

OT, but out of curiosity, what's up with the blue parking light bulbs? I've seen them on Brian's and Cole's Vibes (among others) and now yours. Are they switchback bulbs, or what are they?

I bought them back in 04 so they are working nice.

I bought them back in 04 so they are working nice.I was looking to get some when we first got our Vibes almost 3 years ago, but I quickly discovered Sylvania had quit making them . I ended up getting chrome amber bulbs from Stealth Auto. They're a bit pricey ($24.95 a pair), but very high quality and so far they have lasted over 2 years.Mac, there are quite a few pairs of the old school Sylvania SilverStar signal bulbs on eBay. You may want to pick some up to have on hand .
