Power outlet

Post by 09vGT »

Okay, so the outlet for the cigarette lighter is not working. Anything you plug in won't work. I though maybe it was a fuse, but the book says that both the cigarette lighter and the AC Power Outlet share the same fuse. The AC power outlet works, so it ain't that; the fuse doesn't look burned either. It doesn't seem to be loose or anything. What do I need to check for? I kind of need it to charge my phone/gps.

Check the wires connecting to it.

It's a pain... you may be able to get at it through the shifter. Beware though that the plastic trim pieces are fragile, tabs break easily.

I would start by checking the plugs to the inverter under your seat. If they look ok I would probe them for power both coming and going. This will set you in the direction you need to look.
