I need fuses!!!

Post by 09vGT »

So my cigarette lighter doesn't work. So, I suspect its a bad fuse. I haven't yet tried the plug adapter that I think the book says shares the same fuse. I've pulled the fuse because I THOUGHT i had the right ones, and I was WRONG. I can't find any that seem to look right All of the ones I see have 2 long prongs at the end where the one I pulled from the car is almost flat. Where can I get some?! The fuse doesn't look bad, but I don't' know what else it could be. The lighter doesn't work, and neither will any phone chargers.

I had the same thing on mine. Checked the fuses and swapped a few of them around with no luck. But I tried the inverter plug and it worked. Ended up it must have been loose or something since it started working a couple of weeks later! I plan to tanke it apart sometime in the future to make sure it is not damaged since the prior owner had all kinds of stereo equipment installed, and maybe he messed it up removing his stuff.

Check your owners manual, typically in the fuse box under the hood they have three spair fuses that you can use. Not sure about the 09 and up. There are the regular fuses that you have already described, then the mini fuses and sub mini fuses.
