I had my window go out and have basically had to just leave it due to time and $$.I have read there is a recall on 03-04 for probably the same issue, but of course mine is currently not covered. It just suddenly without any issues began to come off track, and raise up at a bad angle. I have managed to get it up on numerous occasions, but obviously this is not a solution, and with mechanics rolling it down as well during oil changes, it is bound to become a huge issue if I either do not fix it, or figure out which wire to snip to keep the thing from working. Any ideas, suggestions, links etc to help would be so appreciated. the door had a pretty lazy body repaor done, where the whole panel with all of the buttons just pops out. I tried unplugging it entirely, only it disabled all the windows, as well as the doorliocks(I think)But ovbiouslly I had to plug it back in. I want the dealer to fix it, but obviouslly that isnt likely till a recall. Do they ever reimburse people if they fix things before a recall?otherwise I need to figure out how to do it myself and look into taking care of it.Thanks
Funny, my '05 started doing the same thing yesterday with the driver's door...started angling forward as it was lowered. I was able to gently seat it back into place, but didn't want to bend the lifting mechanism. I'm wondering if that is the issue under recall for the previous model years.

If you are talking about the GLASS itself, there IS a recall on the glass coming lose in the door.. People have had windows blow out on them upon raising them... Mines starting.. I need to get it in soon...
It's an easy fix honestly. I don't particularly like people working on my car if I'm more than capable of doing the work. If you pull the door panel off, there are two bolts that hold the glass to the regulator. More than likely those are loose if you're having problems. All I did was pull those bolts and use a little loctite on the threads.

I used to try and fix this stuff, but time and disability have pushed most things into some sort of repair shop. that's, why I was asking about the recall, because I knew it was out on 03-04, but afaik it ends there. I am terrified about the glass breaking, and the repairs from that not to mention the safety issue. On a related note, I noticed the rear window on the drivers side was rubbing on the gasket and pulling it down in the front upper corner. So I may have to have that looked at that would definitely not be warranty.
Thanks for that info, does anyone have the recall campaign number? I saw references to a window recall in other threads, but it appeared to only apply to '03-04 models.Last friday, I took my door panel off (super easy) to see what the problem was...the glass had come out of the rear window regulator clip...I seated it back into the clip. It's not perfect, but much better than it was.
Pleae tell me that you removed the panel using a how to in this forum. I do know mine has had some shoddy repair work on the drivers side my window and door lock control panel is loose, and was glued down for a few months before coming completely loose. that door also has a loud hollow sound when shutting it so I assume the plastic was not reattatched or totally removed. I guess when I have some time, get bravwe or it gets warmer I will try and take a peek. especially with the rear windo having issues as well, been stopped twice now with randowm licence checks and am getting concerned about having a nervous cop and not being able to roll the window down.

I did use the how-to on here...this site is a great resource for things like that. So far the window is holding up...but driving with my fingers crossed is getting tiring.
Well, the window worked for a while, and then started popping out again a few months ago. I went to repair it again, but tightening the bolt made no difference this time. The dealer refused to consider it under the recall when I took it in there. So...just received a new Dorman regulator from Amazon, going to install it this weekend. THAT should do it!
Well, I was able to find some free time Sunday and replace the regulator. It was much simpler than I thought. I spent more time fiddling with the door's moisture barrier than swapping out the part. The issue I was having was a different issue entirely than the recall. One of the two arms that holds the window glass had been bent somehow, causing the whole assembly to be out of alignment. No wonder the window didn't work. The new one works beautifully - being able to put my window down again makes me feel like I discovered fire.
