I stopped at a shop today that I have gone to many times before. The owner is an awesome guy and all he does is brakes, suspension and custom exhaust. I explained everything to him and he said he'll get it on the rack next week and check it out. He said it does sound like a bad strut, so we'll see what he finds. If he does find a bad strut or something, I will be calling the dealer to see if they will replace it or how that will work since it is covered under the warranty *sigh*.

Struts are easy to replace if you wanted to do it yourself. I did the lowering springs and struts on my car in under an hour.

Might be refinancing the loan for the Vibe- the bank offered a rate that takes off about $30 from the monthly payment without increasing the number of months, if approved. I'll still keep paying extra, so I'll probably be able to pay off the car up to a year earlier than expected!

When I bought the 2010 in December, I asked about refinancing our 07 Explorer too since my credit score was better, and they dropped the rate about 2% since the term was less too. So if I keep making the same total payment as I'm making right now for all 3 cars (~$750), I'll have all of them paid off in 3 years! 06 Vibe in Jan '13, Explorer in March '14, and 10 Vibe in Feb '15.

JRPsh! I washed my Vibe, it snowed, and the next day I intentionally drove down a snowy dirt road. It's the winter. My Vibe understands that. And if she gets a touchless bath in the winter I won't stop dirt from flying. But if it's the spring/summer and I just cleaned her, THAN I take care to keep out of the rain and puddles. Especially when I clean her myself.

FINALLY finished LED 3rd brakelight no.5 and installed into my sons Vibe GT. Here they both are "hugging" each other in our garage for a photo shoot This pic is of both of them with the park/running lights on (typical nighttime driving) and the LED's are dimly lit. When you hit the brakes "BACK OFF" or you'll be blinded with the VIBE GT message. These are so much brighter than stock. Now I can finally get on the 2003-08 3rd brakelight which I've promised a few GenVibers here about a .... uhummmmm .... something like ..... a YEAR ago My bad

Recently I noticed a rough idle when cold and with a little research here, discovered that it could be due to the intake manifold gasket. So I picked up the redesigned gasket part#17171-22060(~$8) and changed that out last weekend.Simple fix - took less than an hour - and I think I can feel an improvement in idle and response. Although that could be just in my head and that it hasn't gotten really cold since then. Also, I found the double lid centre consol lid at a junkyard for $5 and installed that as well. Now I have a little more storage and the armrest is at a better height.

One of my Silverstars bit the dust, so I picked up some Phillips bulbs. The Silverstars were getting duller and yellower with age, and these new bulbs are a big refresher. I can see again!! I also put a red LED in each blinker housing along with the blinker bulb, so I get red light in the orange housing, but the blinker is still plainly visible.

I've created quite a few unique "professional looking" contraptions in my days Was thinking of putting in a LED bulb but I think a LED board that fits in there would be better. I totally agree with you on this one To see what painstaking measures I took and how they were created, visit this link to my cardomain page http://www.cardomain.com/ride/...age-2 I plan on designing a few similar to this for the first gen Vibes. tpollauf - Wow. I got my degree in Management, but I'll need to go back and get an Engineering degree to make one of those. They look great installed though. It looks like Pontiac made it. Don't worry about making me one. I appreciate the offer though. I think I might do some research and see what I could come up with. It'll be a nice weekend project.

This past Tuesday I stopped at the shop of a guy who's worked on our cars before so he could check the suspension and see if he could figure out where the "clunking" noise was coming from on my Vibe. He put it up on the lift and checked everything over really well. Everything underneath (suspension, exhaust, etc.) was nice and tight so he didn't see any reason for the "clunk". He then put the lift back down and was checking other things on the back of the car. He ended up hitting his fist against the spoiler and the spoiler was sort of loose and so it made a sort of "clunking" sound as it hit against the metal of the top of the hatch. He said that's probably where it's coming from. He was nice enough to not charge me anything, so I headed home. I pulled the Vibe in the garage and popped the plastic trim piece off the inside of the hatch, so I could check the bolts that hold the spoiler down. Sure enough, one of the bolts was a little loose, but the spoiler still seems to be a little loose. My next step is going to be removing the spoiler completely and then going for a drive to see whether I hear the noise or not. If I don't, I will get some sort of double sided foam tape or something to put on the underside of the spoiler, if I do hear the noise, the next step will be pulling everything out of the cargo area and making sure everything is nice and tight. This noise is driving me nuts and I will figure out what's causing it!The same day I stopped at two Auto Zones, a Pep Boys and an Advanced Auto, trying to track down a pair of SilverStar zXe bulbs to try out. I was finally able to get a pair at Advanced Auto. They are indeed noticeably brighter then the SilverStar Ultras. I was pleased with them, so I am going to order two pairs of 9005s for the high beams in both Vibes and a pair of 9006s for the low beams in my mom's Vibe. I highly recommend them to anyone who likes SilverStars. My only suggestion would be to get them on eBay where they are $10.00 - $15.00 cheaper then retail ($59.99) .

The spoiler on my 10 GT was barely attached when I picked it up. Two of the bolts were just finger tight, and it rattled and vibrated whenever I closed the hatch. Since I've tightened the bolts down, no more noises from that.I have a rattle inside the car from the back. I assumed it was from the plastic storage compartments and put some foam tape in between the pieces, but the noise is still there. My next step is to remove all the stuff like you said, and hopefully I can isolate the noise. It does bug me, but I know it is on the inside of the car so it does not worry me like a shock or suspension would.Good luck on finding it!

I have a sub with a built in amplifier screwed to the back of the driver's side rear seat. It's not one of those thumpers that drown out the music. It's just enough to fill out the lower tones in the music. I put neoprene foam under the sub so not contact would be made between it and the plastic on the back of the seat. I still noticed some rattling when it was turned up loud. So I found that it was coming from where the seat latches to the back on the side by the door. Put some neoprene foam above and below the latch and it helped a lot. You might check that or take everything out in the cargo area and the headrests to see if it's still rattling.

The car is refinanced at 3.75% for a 60 month loan. It was originally going to be a 48 month loan (which is how much I had left on the old loan) but there was a good reason for this- we got approved for 13,500 but only had a little over 10k to payoff... so I took the extra money and the extra year so I could take it and pay off some higher interest credit cards (debt sucks, don't have it!!!) and then use the money I *was* paying the credit cards to pay the car off early. Basically just treating the extra as a low-interest loan... which was very useful in our life situation. Plus the payments are lower... which means my high extra payments I have been doing will go farther AND will help pay these credit cards....

They wouldn't negotiate on the price because they did a dealer trade to get it (I ended up paying sticker price = $23,xxx.xx) and I got screwed over on trading my 2002 Pontiac Sunfire SE Sedan that I still owed money on in (I owed about $4,xxx.xx and they gave me less than $2000.00 for it ), but it all evened out when I scored 1.9% interest ! Pretty darn good for being my first brand new vehicle purchased on my own and considering I didn't have much in the way of a credit history at the time ! It's hard to believe when I send off my payment in April, the Vibe will be officially half mine !It's funny because my mom got a much better price on her Vibe ($18,xxx.xx) because it had been on the lot for a while, but she ended up with a higher interest rate, so we will both end up paying almost the same for our Vibes .I am planning on keeping the Vibe for a long time because I hate dealing with car dealerships. No matter what they screw you over somehow .

I'm having new front rotors and pads installed this morning. Went 84,000 miles on the originals(Not Bad!!). No issues with my brakes other than vibration with braking from highway speeds. It is just time to replace them.Edit: Nice smooth brakes now. I didn't realize how much farther I had to push the pedal to start slowing down before. It'll take a couple days to get used to it.

I've got about 15% left on my brake pads. Getting them replaced here shortly. You know what kind of brakes you got put on there? I have a feeling I'm going to be doing some "seatbelt checks" quite often when I get the new ones on. I can push down about halfway before I get some braking. Doesn't sound very safe, does it.

My Receipt says:Front Brake Rotor - Premium 4886934 - qty=2Front Brake Pads - Safety Stop - OE Ceramic SS7824XFound info on the brakes online: (Second listing from the top) http://www.dmauto.net/web/dmau.../3004Found info on the pads online: http://www.dmauto.com/web/dmau...7824X/They're not top of the line, but these should be fine for me since my originals lasted so long. Kinda shows I'm not jamming the brakes all the time.

Thoes came from NAPA i can tell from the name. Im running their ultra premium rotors and i just switched from their adaptive one pads to their ultra premium pads. Im at 68k, 3rd set of pads, 2nd set of rotors. Gotta love all the hills here.

I had to replace the factory rotors a few years back, they were so warped the steering wheel shook like a wheel was out of balance at highway speeds.

Yesterday, I started preping my rims for paint, sanding, cleaning, and repair, i also took apart the rear 'trunk' area for a full cleaning, lots of beach sand and other things have built up. Today I took apart the rest of the interior, any plastic i could get off and out of the car, like the center console! I just need to shampoo all the fabrics and it will be super clean and fresh!
