I have the EX3560's in my front doors. They sound great, even powered only off the Nav system! I do need to get an external amp for it, but because the passenger seat is taken up by the changer, I need to find a clever place to put an amp..Anyway, the polks are great. I tore out the stock speakers and mounted the woofers directly to the old thing. The tweeters are actually kinda "freefloating". I let the speaker magnet attatch itself to the origional tweeter mount and when you put the plastic covers back, it holds it right in place! No problems there. The crossover I screwed into the door. If you're looking at the inside of the passenger door, it's screwed into the metal right to the right of the pocket and just below where all the foam is.. Carefully drill two holes, and use the screws provided.. Then just thread the wires through the other stuff in the door to keep them safe, and you're set!I got my polks at Circuit City...they had them for $179. About 45 minutes for each door..

I replaced mine with Kenwood KFC-1689ie speakers these are 6 1/2" 3ways I think they soud GREAT but you know speakers are tough 'cause everyone has different "ears". I plan to add the Bazooka sub designed to fit in the back.

I'd actually say to stay away from the car department at BestBuy...they tend to have only the "low end speakers" in my opinion. Of course..I find Rockfords to be horrible sounding and overpriced... I tend to frequent the Circuit City more often...they at least carry Polk, Alpine and Infinity.

I just installed some Infinity Kappa 62.5's in the front doors and they sound great. They fit fine, except that the tweeter pushes against the factory grill, which keeps the door panel from snapping together entirely. The solution will be to buy a rotary tool and cut out the factory grills and replace them with the infinity ones, which I've painted to match my metallic blue interior panels (pics to come when it's all done )

Crutchfield doesn't ship to Canada ( ) and we have some decent audio shops here in Montreal. I was thinking of installing some 3 ways in the front and 2 ways in the rear doors, or do I have that setup wrong?Oh and yeah I was fast wanted to install it so badly last night! Took me and a buddy about 30 minutes to install it.

Hey man...I'm thinking about getting Pioneer speakers too...Since you seem more quick to move on it than i am, let me know what you think of whatever brand you end up with!

No problem Mike, will do!Rob, I use crutchfields website to do my research. Their site is very helpful and I think I will also ask one of their advisors what they think.I just know that there a some audio experts here at genvibe so I am curious to know what they think as well. What setup do you have?

The high end component Pioneers are okay, but the two and three ways aren't so great.. Just not the best material.I finally have all my door speakers somewhat straightened out. The polk/MOMO MM6 set in the front doors, and Polk EX3560's went in the back. Eventually..it'll all be the Polk/MOMOs.. I don't know about Canada..but if you buy any pair of polk speakers (component or two-way), the second set is half off..

i have co-axial pioneers 6.5" in the front doors and they sound great! bot em at walmart for like $35/pair on sale. i have sony xplod 3-way 6.5" in the rear doors and they give it a nice rounded sound. then i added a kicker solobaric sub, just an 8" did fine in a ported box. hooked that up to a 5 channel planet audio amp and it really kicks plenty for me. i like to hear my music and sing along in the car... not that it's bad to bump along, but i prefer actually listening to the music and not just the bass. so, depends on what sound you want to accomplish.

Hope I was told that 4" speakers will fit nicely in the rear doors without any modifications, did you have to cut anything or get an adapter to install the rear speakers?

The stock speakers in the back are 5", and you'd have to destroy the stock speakers in order to get those 5". If you take the stock speakers out entirely, some 6 3/4" (6.5 oversize), will screw right into the door.4" will not fit in the doors of the vibe...well..not without a lot of labor, and anything under 6" is kinda unhelpful anyway..

Yes...trdvibe is correct.. If you cut out the stock speakers from the plastic mount they're in (i.e. destroy them), then 6.5 will fit perfectly in the front.. Rip the cone out..then use some cutters and cut the plastic holding the magnet. If you remove the whole assembly..you could have problems with the new speaker hitting the window. For the rear..remove the speaker assembly entirely by drilling out the rivets..

Obcon 6.5"'s fit fine with factory grills still in place on my 04'. They sound great! They are more known for their subs, but a buddy of mine who runs a stereo shop wanted me to try out their full range speakers. I have 2-way in the back doors and 2-way component speakers in the dront doors and stock tweeter locations. The clarity is incredible. I prefer accuracy and general sound more than the boom-boom of lots of bass. My GF is the opposite. She is very happy with the way the car sounds with the Obcons in the doors and the 2 10" Obcon subs in a ported box in the backend. Oh and he and I looked at the stock speakers and just shook our heads. I told him to go ahead and cut those POS's out! Grrrr....injection molded speaker cages! Man what were they thinking other than CHEAP $$$$$
