Help, 05 vibe steering pulls bad

Post by 666ws6 »

Looking for what could be the cause... 2005 Vibe has 142k miles and over the last 5k miles, the car pulls all over the place over every bounce, every groove in the road. It's very annoying. Seems to be getting worse. Used to be only at highway speeds, but now even happenning at 40mph over grooves in the road. What should I look at first? Wheel bearings? Tire Rod ends? I just had the tires balanced just in case, but the problem remains.
2005 base Vibe - Moonstone Gray, CAI, STB, Magnaflow, tinted, lowered, rear sway, P&P Throttle body. TB bypass, Helix Power Tower and UR underdrive pulleys (crank and alt).

When was the last time you had a 4 wheel alignment done?

My first thought would be tie rods. Jack it up and see if you can move the wheels in or out and if there is any slack in the steering system. What I do is take it to my local tire place like Firestone and have them take a look. Then I tell them I'll have to come back after payday to get it fixed, but I fix it myself. Of course you will need an alignment if it is the tie rods.Good luck on it!
