LIMITED SLIP DIFFERENTIAL?

Post by dgekiere »

SO I AM BUILDING A RALLY CAR AND AM INTERESTED IN ADDING LIMITED SLIP TO IT. HAS ANYONE ADDED LSD TO THEIR VIBES. I HAVE A 2003 VIBE GT. I FOUND A FEW ONLINE, ONE IS $700 CHEAPER. WHATS THE BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE 2. HAS ANY ONE USED EITHER OF THEM?http://www.monkeywrenchracing....d=706http://www.ebay.com/itm/390359...p=mtrTHANKSDOUG

I'd be very interested in hearing about the differences as well. My 5-speed works, but I think I would like it better if it had an LSD. Maybe someone on Matrixowners has compared them?

The Quaife Helical LSD is one of the best on the market. I have used cheaper LSD’s like the old monkey wrench racing one and it was an improvement over stock, but now I am running the TRD/Toyota Helical LSD and I like it a lot it gives you great strait line pull with little to no torque steer. As for the corning it works great gives you just enough slip to keep you in control but if you try to overpower the corner it will push under power like under steer. So if the Quaife works the same as the TRD I would go with that one.

Are there any add-on LSD kits for the automatic? I would love to have LSD for the winter. I'm about to pull my engine for repair/replacement, so it would be a perfect time to add LSD to the transmission if possible.
