So mad at myself. Took my kayak off my car this evening and it slipped in my hands and fell down onto my driver side view mirror. The assembly the mirror sits/swivels on snapped off the side of the car. But the mirror itself is fine.Any recommendations as far as purchasing a used assembly and re-using my mirror (gray color), or purchasing whole thing new, etc?Any help much appreciated.Paul
Ouch ....... I feel your pain. You'll likely need to order a NEW one from the factory. Here's your best bet on the mirror: click this link ..... https://www.partswebsite.com/g...partsI ordered a pair for my sport red metallic 2009 Vibe last year for modding purposes and below is what it set me back.Order DetailOrder Reference #514388Item Name and Options Make Model Year Qty PriceRed Left Pontiac Vibe 2010 1 86.33Red Right Pontiac Vibe 2010 1 88.08Sub Total:Shipping Total:Handling Fee:Order Total: $174.41$0.00$4.50$178.91Good luck
Thanks for the info and suggestions. I just left gmpartsdirect site, where they listed a left side (i assume this is driver side) mirror assembly for about $78. They asked me for my VIN so they could verify correct part. Seems reasonable. Question is how long it will take me to do the replacement myself. And I guess it can take a while to get the part from this website. Wonder how many fix-it tickets I'll get before the part arrives
If you ordered it today online, you will have it by Wed or Thurs at the latest. This will likely mean the removal of your drivers side door panel so make sure you have one of those "clip' removal type tools to prevent you from breaking any plastic Since these are electric adjusting mirrors you'll need to remove a connector first then the mirror will be free to unbolt. Never did it yet to the Vibe so I can't give you any pointers yet. Good luck

Their prices may be slightly higher then GMPD, but they only charge $7.99 for handling and shipping is free (on everything except wheels, large body parts, engines, etc). They are also currently offering 5% off your total order through January 31st. Simply enter code fb5 at checkout. I have ordered from them 3 times now and have been extremely satisfied. I used to order from GMPartsDirect all the time, but their shipping prices are crazy (automatic $12.95 even if you only order plastic panel retainers) and it always seemed to take a minimum of 2 weeks to get parts. Just my $.02 though.

Basically it's like a flat blade WIDE screwdriver bent at a 30' angle with a slot in the middle, so it can grab the plastic clips. When I'm home later tonight I'll send a pic (mine is 25+ years old) but there are several variations of this tool of which they all work well

I want that job! That's like 4 times my current pay. No wonder I do everything to my cars that I can myself.
