Cruze Hatchback or Wagon available in the US?

Post by jkm311 »

GM possibly reconsidering the Cruze hatch in the US?http://www.autonews.com/articl.../1499I'm still a year or two away from needing something new, but options like this are encouraging. The photo in the article doesn't tell the story that this one does:

I would consider this as a future Vibe replacement, when the time comes, espacially if they offer it in that 40 m.p.g. package.I looked at one when I had my Vibe in for the ECM recall, and I was impressed with how nice the car was.

In Europe, they are putting diesels in these, shooting the MPGs well beyond 40. Let's hope an option will exist for those that so wish...

What about a coupe? I'm surprised ones not out yet since it took the place of the Cobalt.

I don't know what's wrong with GM sometimes.

There are dozens of Photo-chops of them flying around, and a handful of articles eluding to Mark Reuss at GM approving the venture. Stay tuned. This is the closest to production-look I could find among the digital ether, but they left the sedan's back-end on it, so it's too stubby in the (removed): EDIT: Believe it or not, it reminds me of this 2-door 2005 Mercedes C Class:

I might consider this if it scores higher than the Prius v in tests and reviews. I'd even consider diesel if it was an option and got the proper mpg that a diesel should get (50-70 mpg would be the cats rear).
