I tapped the windshield washer res and injected -20 or -32 windshield washer fluid. This royally F'd the SC up. I paid Magnason to rebuild the SC and set it up to work with water/meth injection. They recoated the blades and replaced all the bearings.I dont remember the injector size, It is the smaller of the Stage II MAF from Snow Performance. I injected around 4-4.5K on the tach, so only in openloop, and only when on it.As for MPG, it was weird. Some times I would get 33, other times I would get 23. Where i noticed the improvement was a WOT. A lot less detonation issues and it pulled stronger through the higher end of the power band.

So What did they change for it to work safely with the meth?

i sent it in for "warranty" work, since it started grinding. They called me back stating that the impeller coating was stripped off, and that that SC was not designed for water/meth injection and that using the water inject invalidated the warranty. I called BS, i was only running windshield washer fluid, there isnt anything in there to cause the coating to come off, and that Magnasun had this problem before on their Ford SC. They refused to warranty it. So it was somewhere around $680 which was bummer, i had only been running it for a little over a month and half at that time. They replaced the barrings with something of better quality and replaced or recoated the impellers (probably replaced)Now its rock solid, didnt have any more issues. Put around 40K miles on it since, at least another 40K more before the nose oil would need to be changed.

so the solution you were running contained no meth? so since the rebuild no more wear should be on the coating? so i guess that seems possible. it looks like thats the case if your saying you didnt change your set up with the spray after the rebuild, and you put that many more miles on it w/o problems.trd supercharger air tube? is that for using with the stock air box??

Magnuson was saying it was the velocity of the water drops that "sand blasted" the coating...yeahWindshield washer fluid contains methanol, just not as good a boost juice, more watered down. It provided the cooling effects of water, with just a touch of meth. Would have loved to have tried it with boost juice.Yes, the airtube is for stock airbox.

To state the obvious I'm interested in the charger, just worried about the coating since it was sprayed. I'm not sure what to make of it. It went bad in the first few months and ever since the repair its lasted as long as you say with no problems. Maybe the problem was not the spray in the first time? Just a fluke thing. Of course they won't cover if they can easily blame it on meth. I'm sure you won't have trouble selling this, just may take some time. If you still have it in a short time I just may scoop it up. Having a hard time justifying spending that much cash right now.

Does the price on the TRD ECU include the TRD Adapter and Harness? Also which TRD ECU do you have M/T or A/T?

The TRD ECU is for automatic, thanks for point that put, I'll add it to the post.it does include the adapter, and harness, however i had wired the harness up to a boomslang because the adapter does not work with 2005 DBW.

Not really understanding what you did to the TRD adapter and harness. The adapter fits in to the stock ECU. Then there's a harness that plugs into the adapter and into the TRD ECU. Did you modified the adapter or the harness? You must have some good skills to modify the TRD adapter to fit the EMU. Because the TRD ECU doesn't directly mess with the injectors. It basically lies to the stock ECU via the MAF and O2 for the desired results

I'm thinking he used the trd on its own. Used the harness to be able to wire it into the car. I don't think he means he used the trd and the emu simultaneously.

I wouldn't think so but using the TRD Adapter and Harness for the EMU would require some pretty good soldering skills. Including cutting traces on the adapter and adding wires. I'm sure it could be done but not for a novice.

SO for the TRD ECUThe pins changed between 2004 and 2005. All I did was cut off the end of the factory harness, and wire it accordingly to the 2005 pinout, using an old Boomslang i had sitting around.

do you have the fifth injector? is it just another of the stock size or different? not sure what wiring would be needed for that also. thinking if i get my taxes filed and we can get a deal on the super and trd ecu shipped that money could be headed your way in a couple weeks. dont you need an idler pulley also? or mounting bracket of something? if i get the super and the trd computer what else would i need? colder plugs and thermostat? studs you mentioned also, sure i can find them at the hardware. i would rather run the system on emu and larger injectors but i would be happy just to get it operational at as low cost as possible. can always upgrade later. o also i have aftermarket air intake. how hard is it to get hooked up to that? is there really any difference?i am 03 will the trd ecu work for me?on a sidenote, my girlfriend is going to hate me for this.

The 5th injector is mounted on the bottom by the throttlebody. Im not sure what the size. If you go with a 550 CC injectors you dont need to even wire up the 5th injector.I had the 2.1 pulley on it and with the emanage+water injection I was able to peak out at a little over 10lbs of boost. I put the stock pulley back on the SC because any size smaller then a 2.3 pulley and the SC starts heating up. The water injector helped by cooling the air charge, so heat was never an issue. I think thats why I was able to get 10lbs reliably with the smaller pulley where others had problems. So unless someone is going to snag up the SC and the meth injection kit and the pulleys, it made sense to put stock pulley back on.Oh yes, the idler pulley is included with the SC. Remove top bolt from alternator, loosen bottom bolt, swing alternator out. Bolt the idler puller with bracket to where the top bolt of alternator was, bolt alternator to idler pulley bracket, tighten everything up.

Yea but can I run thebigger injectors without the emanage? I don't plan on spending the extra on engine management right now.

Yes! The ECU will figure it out. Now it may run rich for a while until it does. The TRD 5th injector is 660 cc/min I think. The TRD ECU will work with your 03.

yes the ecu will figure it out? do you mean the ecu will correct to a safe af and be ok. or correct to spray the stock amount of fuel and run me too lean for the supercharger? sorry munky for the thread jack. i actually have the money for this if i figure out if i can make it work without a TON of extra parts/money.

The TRD ECU is a piggyback and it will correct the fuel for the SC. If you just toss in the bigger injectors with the SC without the TRD ECU (or any piggyback) you'll run lean for a boosted engine. If you get a Greddy EMU or AEM FIC it will need to be tuned.

I do still have the COSMO CAII used the meth injector to spray windshield washer fluid before the supercharger to cool the air charge. This allowed me to safely run 2.1 pulley and mitigate the heat. The snow pump was ran from the EMU that I recently sold. The snow MAF controller box no longer worked. I had it running off of the output wire and varied the voltage by RPM and only sprayed when in the upper band.

Its a little over 35$ to ship it, so $75 total for the CAI, the dry filter, shipped. The tube is tapped with the meth injector, so this includes the injector. Is that still okay?

i could pull the sprayer and put a plug in its place. I doubt the air pressure would be enough to cause the injector to leak, but wouldnt want to put anyone in a predicament where it was. Standby, illl see if I can set it up so it wont be an issue at all.
