Does anyone have any tips for a first-timer regarding rear seat removal of a 2009 GT?I am in the process of sound dampening and have removed the trunk goodies just fine. I've now moved on to the rear seats and am having reservations about pulling up the bench bottom part. It seems to pull up just fine on the sides but there are two places on either side where there is a "clip" (?) holding the centers of each side.Is there something under the carpet that I need to undo, unclip, unscrew, etc. before I pull up on the seat? Or do I need to not be scared of breaking something and just give it a good heave? Should I get a pro to do it and step away from the vehicle?I did take out the two metal bars which were screwed to the frame at the back of the bench seat bottom. Thanks guys and dolls!

Take a good look at this attached pic and I think you'll see what you're up against My son & I pretty much gutted his interior and I thought that the service manuals which I purchased for this model year Vibe, would have helped me out .................. WRONG The 2009 manuals show something that doesn't even exist. I can only assume that it is out of the 2008 manual and it never got updated. Nontheless, I had to figure this one out on my own. It is merely a very tight nylon style locking clip which the u-shaped heavy wire coming from the seat base "snaps" in to. Good luck and I hope this helps out ........................... Tim
Thanks Tim!I was wondering if those white plastic pieces stayed or came out with the seat. I pulled on it before and thought I was going to rip the seat! Ooof. When I get a few more free minutes, I'm gonna go get that seat out!You bought the Big Pink Helm "3 phone book" manual, right? That's what I have but I'm at work and they are at home. And they are too heavy for me to carry.

Good luck and keep us all posted as to the results of this project
Will do good sir. I plan to do it as my work schedule allows. The interior may be in shambles for a month or more. But I'm in no hurry. Hopefully I can keep pics of my progress...Thanks again! I like how those manuals tell you what tool is needed and gives a part number just in case you want to go get one [from the parts counter at work, because after all, you are a "dealership employee" ] if need be.
