I have a 2008 Vibe 2wd auto and I was told that I cannot tow it behind my rv due to tranny damage. Can I install a pump for the transmission to circulate the fluid? I see many of you tow Vibes but somone asked why you do not see more. I think that it is because most are told you cannot tow a Vibe unless it is 2wd with a manual transmission.I know alll about the tow equipment needed I was just told by a Pontiac mechanic at a dealership that I could not tow it without causing damage. More input please.Paulb Indiana
if it is an automatic, you generally do not want all 4 wheels on the ground if towing. Internals are still moving even if in neutral and it is a poor decision for the life of the transmission if it is NOT a stick car.get a 2 wheel dolly and use that. it is safer, better for the car and cheap to buy.

some tow the AT non-AWD vibe behind an RV, but do it with a dolly. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=32373 was a good thread until the pictures disappeared, (hate it when people upload pics to an external hosting site, build a useful thread with them, then lose interest and stop hosting the pictures.) but there is still good discussion. Mr October and WD0AFQ don't post here often, but they might be reachable via IM if you have questions oabout their set up. They both bolted on special brackets to the Vibe to make repeated towing easier.
The dealer is correct, you cannot tow a Vibe four-down. Maybe a pump is an option, I have never looked into it.

That is correct. You nend either some type pump for the tranny oil or a 2 wheel dolly.

Way back in the day we would flat tow a B/MP 67 Camaro with 4.88 gears & a 350 trans . We used "free wheeling" hubs.Check around ,maybe you could find a set.Proably the easiest way to go & no modifications needed
