This weekend, I'm looking at buying some 17 inch 09 Toyota Camry alloys for summer tires. I've got the 205/55 16 winter tires on my steel rims. I know the 09 Camry bolt pattern is correct for the 2.4. I would run 215/45 17 tires, the standard size for the Vibe/Matrix 17 inch rims. I'd love some feedback from those of you with the larger tire on your Vibe. How stiff is the ride? I have 45 series tires on my Miata so I'm used to a sporty ride. However, I'd be be doing some gravel road travel and am concerned about that short a sidewall. Any opinions would be appreciated. Should I wait for some 16 inch alloys or go for the 17 inch?
I too have an 09 GT with the OEM 18s and the ride is stiff and sporty which I personally like.I say go for it as long as the offset is the same as the Vibe, they should fit fine.

I have 215/45-17's on mine and do not find the ride to be too "stiff" or harsh. If you have no issues in the Miata I'm sure you'd be fine.Gravel should be no problem - it's the potholes you got to watch out for!

I decided to pass on the 17 inch wheels. Not sure I want to go lower profile. You are right about the 45mm offset for Camry wheels. A lot of the Toyota/Scion wheels are 45mm. What I'd really like to find is some 16 inch Matrix alloys.
