What is the best way to get your car un stuck at deep snow

It seems deflate your tire would reduce your ground clearence..any other suggestion? floor mat?

A shovel and a tow strap are the best way. And good tires.

I carry an old short handle coal shovel in the car in the winter. (smaller than a snow shovel) When I've been stuck it was because of snow packing under the car and lifting the chassis reducing traction. I do some digging under the car and we're back moving again.

Stuck in deep snow? .....a cell phone to call the tow truck.Your near the North Pole, so snow tires are a must. Keep sand or Cat litter in your car for extra weight and traction. A shovel is required. I have seen some collapsable ones. A tow strap is a good item to have handy. Times when I have been stuck I have used the rocking method to get out, it has worked most of the time. only a few times has it been so bad I have had to resort to other methods.

I would normally employ the rocking method but after my sister blew the head gasket (presumably; we junked the car when we found out what it would cost to try to fix it, with no promised success) on my old Sunfire trying to do that without traction, I've been hesitant. There were tons of things wrong with that car so it was just a matter of time before something blew, though. It had an on-and-off issue with overheating.Regardless of the cause, I would much prefer the safe route of digging it out and throwing some sand down for traction. I don't have any tips to add but I think I'll make a trip to the hardware store for a nice shovel and some sand to keep in the back. Did anybody ever heard a brake and gas technique to rock the car out.This is the same trick to rock a 4x4 out of deep mud..That what I faintly remember.. but i need you guys to correct me if i am wrong.this is for stuck in deep wet snow with slush base. Since the car been stuck your tire has dig into the base. with deep snow hanging in under carriage.Keep your steering point straight, disable traction control, put into drive, let the car roll slightly forward to the edge of the and just tap the brake lightly to let the other wheel grab (since we have open diff)... rock your car gently without applying too much gas to gain momentum to forge a track. something like that..
