Hi all...I just purchased a New Double Din Pioneer Headunit for my 2003 Vibe base package. My car is going to be in the shop for a min., and wanted to get all the wiring ready in the meantime. I have a wiring harness adaptor for the Vibe from a previous install, and the wiring harness that goes into the headunit. However, I have no wiring diagram to properly wire together. I'm sure I know most, but some are tricky and I'm unsure. Is there anyone out there that is familiar with this scenario? Also, if you can answer that that you can surely answer this: How and Where do I get movies and music videos to watch on my tv with a USB/SD memory cards? There is a demo AVH p3200 at my local Wal Mart and I tried to get my flash drive sticks to display on the headunit there and all i got was sound and no video...Thank you for looking and I hope you can help!
the unit will have the colors with it that correspond to the wires, and the adapter you bought should all be the same colors. if not, here's the colors coming into the stock harness.http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=31372
Yes, the aftermarket harness and the harness will have corresponding colors. Red - red, white/black - white/black, just be sure to solder and heat shrink (tape can be used) or use crimp connectors.
Vibe is gone and will be missed as I've gone country style
true, the majority of the wires match up (obvious red=power, black = ground and all the speaker wires are matched up), and I soddered those wires up and black taped them...but there are some other ones that are confusing me...such as:On the pioneer wiring harness1. I have an all yellow 'mute' wire that's unused2. Blue w/ white stripe 'system remote control' wire unused3.Purple 'reverse gear signal' wire unsued4 Orange w/ white stripe wire w/ a fuse that's unnamed unusedOn the Car Radio aftermarket wiring harness:1. Blue w/ white stripe wire2. Solid Orange 'illumination' wire3 Orange w/ white stripe 'dimmer' wire4. Solid Blue unnamed wire5 Black w/ white stripe wire6. Solid Black wireIf anyone knows how to wire up these remaining wires please instruct me how...I don't have either of the diagrams for the harnesses and the internet isn't helping much...Thanks everyone for your help.
Do you have a moon roof/sun roof? If you do you might have the moon and tunes package, just to be sure is there a amp under the passenger side front seat?If not then you can rule out the blue/white wire, that is for remotely turning on the amp. You will need to make this connection only if you have a external amp, ala moons and tunes.

If you don't have the factory amp, you'll use the basics Red, Yellow, Black, Gray/gray-black, Purple/purple-black, White/white-black, Green/green-blackIf you are running an amp, you need the remote turn on... If you want dimming, you hook up dimming, illumination for illumination... Different things for different options
thanks for the pic man! I have it finished up and working nice in the car...have to say it looks beautiful at night. This tv let's me upload a picture to save as the background during music play...just like a playstation 3! I've got to get a pic up soon so everyone can see how nice this unit looks!
