Heated seats! Sunday I ran all the wiring for both seats, and installed the pads in the driver seat. Mounted the switches around the shifter bezel yesterday. This Sunday I will probably be able to get the passenger seat done. If anyone would be interested I could take some pics and write a little how to on it. Running the wiring is self explanatory but I found the seat to be a bit tricky. That could be helpful to someone. the kit was $100 from ebay.
Nice shots!! Beautiful country, but I wouldn't like the cold weather. Reinstalled the OE headlamp bulbs. BOTH low beams burned out. The Philips bulbs only lasted Need to get another set of ??? for back up.The wife has been driving on the fog lights alone for, according to her recollection, about a week now and never told me it was getting harder to see. But she did say the headlamps were working. WRONG. This is the cross I have to bear.

Mounted and balanced my new winter tires onto the factory steelies yesterday at work. Have not put them actually onto the car yet but the day is coming... Winter mode --- YUCK !
okok, couldn't wait for the car wash. it was such a nice day out I just had to drive around. Found a cool alley to take some pics in so I stopped and did the deed. Took some in the park I wasn't happy with, but forgot to get a rear end shot in the alley... er.. I'll post more in my garage, but here's the idea:

It's definitely DRIVEN lol. There are weeks I put on 1k. I hate those weeks. I try to take care of it, I want it to be around as long as I possibly can, even if I get another daily driver, then she'll be my toy.
I washed, used the clay bar, and waxed my Vibe today.....and....got my horn set up complete. More photos in my garage and a video clip later. Sorry for the darkness, the sun has not been out here for at least a week, no lie! JR

Yesterday I installed my winter tires on my Vibe. God my car looks sad with the black rims on... No snow yet this year, but it sure will come soon enough !
Well what I did to my Vibe late Sunday night was not pretty I don't know what I hit but it did some serious damage to the rim & tire. Hopefully after I get the new rim & tire all will be fine but I suspect either a front end alignment (at the least) but maybe more due to the impact the Vibe took. I know Carrie went through a similar experience with the Vibe awhile ago. We'll now it's my turn The winter tires weren't going to go on until the first of December BUT I may have to put them on sooner due to this minor mishap

It's times like this that it really pays off to have an extra set of wheels and tires though .I'm glad to see I'm not the only one that waits 'til the beginning of December to put the steelies on .

Well as you can see from the pic, I reluctantly had to put my winter tires on already Probably won't get any snow till December BUT due to the damaged rim & tire I figured ... why not now! Speaking of the tire & rim, the ins co will only pay for a "reconditioned" rim and that alone will run in the upper $200's PLUS they are having a hard time locating the Good Year 18" RSA oem tire which our Vibes came with. If I had high mileage then I'd say change them all BUT I only have 11000 miles ant they are still like new so I must stick with this type of tire. If I opt for new it will cost me over $500 for just the rim GMParts Direct will sell it to me for $340.86 and that is NEW! I'm going to negotiate with my insurance company on the best route to go. No damage to the undercarriage or alignment at all so all I need is a new rim & tire. My deductible is $250.00. I'll keep all informed as to what happens. In the meantime my Vibe is running a bit smoother now that I have the winter 16" tires on

In the meantime my Vibe is running a bit smoother now that I have the winter 16" tires on My advice to you is to keep on your insurance company about getting a brand new wheel. We have State Farm and when I had my wheel and tire incident, they pulled that "reconditioned" wheel crap on me to begin with. The body shop received the "reconditioned" wheel and when I went to look at it the painted parts (that are supposed to be gunmetal) were immediately, very noticeably, a completely different color from the OEM wheels. The painted parts also had a rough feeling to them whereas on the OEM wheels the entire wheel was nice and smooth. I told the body shop there was no way I was putting that on my car. A few days later I had a 100% brand new OEM wheel. The reason they do crap like that is because so many don't give a hoot about their car and wouldn't notice, or wouldn't care, about the typically poor quality of a "reconditioned" part. And of course it's much cheaper for them to get a "reconditioned" part than a brand new one.As far as the tire goes, the body shop I dealt with didn't have any problem getting a tire as far as I know. I had the brand new wheel and tire in less than a week.I hope you end up with a brand new wheel and that they can track down a tire for you. Keep us posted.

I put in my new LED lights, and while waiting for my friends to get out of school (7th hour ends at 2:09, but I don't have a 7th hour) since I drive them home while AJs Vibe is as MAACO I took apart my center console and unplugged the harness which turns the AC on with the windshield defroster. In the parking lot. Using only the small philips screwdriver and flathead screwdriver from my 9-piece multi-tool from Thinkgeek. It was all put back together within 15-20 minutes.
Goodness gracious, I just put in my new driver's side splash guard and it was so much more difficult than it should have been!!! I didn't think I'd have to take my tire off or anything. . . Also I'm missing like 8 screws and plastic screwinto things. >.<
I thouroughly enjoyed my extra hour of sleep this morning, then I went out to the garage and rotated my mom's tires. In a little while I will be heading back out to the garage to change my oil.

Changed the oil... been putting it off for 2 weeks now. Dipstic level read at the top dot, drained about 3.4L from the engine and maybe 300ml or so from the oil filter housing. 113XXkms OCI. Added 4.5L, slightly over the top dot on the dipstick. 0w20 Toyota synth. No oil leaks, probably 90% highway. This is the first time I've actually measured it upon removal.
Ah. We must be twins. I did the same today and have put it off for nearly 500 miles. 5w-30 Pennzoil Ultra Class full synth and a WIX filter. I also rotated the tire and re-aired them.

Make that a trio. I changed my oil as well after needing it for some time. I also put in new plugs. Right now she's at Tires Plus having her coolant and transmission fluid changed. PCV may be coming soon...
4 of a kind! i too have been putting it off, and saw colder weather coming. Valvoline SynPower 5x-20 and a Wix filter under the hood and some Chevron Techron for the tank. just over 7,000 miles on the same combo done in April. disappointingly dark, but seemed to be holding up well-still a nice consistency.
Vacumed the drivers side rugs, aired up the tires, checked the oil, took off some pine needles.iIt needs a good bath, with the rain/snow we had a few weeks back it has some road salt residu on it.

Changed my mom's oil today. Penzoil 5W20 and OEM Toyota oil filter. I only have one Toyota oil filter left, so I'll have to be ordering another case of ten from TRD Sparks pretty soon . Checked the tire pressure, lug nuts (rotated the tires last weekend), checked all the fluids, topped off the windshield washer fluid and cleaned the air and cabin filters. Now I'm just biding my time until I have to put the steelies on ...

I brought my car up by the house and vacuumed it out, cleaned the windows, and armor all'd everything. And then when I was all done cleaning it out, my son insisted on going for a ride. lol
Black lug nuts for the steelies came in the mail yesterday. As did some silver vinyl. I used the vinyl as backing for a decal I'm going to put on Applejuice's Vibe's center caps once he gets it back (if my Vibe ever needs repair and insurance is this much of a pain, there will be hell to pay...). Now I'll probably make some vent opening decals with the leftover vinyl, like what GrafXwerks offers. Its too dark to blend in with the paint, so there goes the idea for using it to cover up the scratch on my rear bumper...
I just ordered a few parts for the Vibe so I can have a couple of projects to work on over Thanksgiving break.- I bought some LEDs so I can swap out the dome light with a brighter alternative. A big thanks goes to KITT222 for finding a good deal and for planning to do a write-up. The pictures that he posted made it seem like an awesome enhancement for interior lighting. These likely won't get delivered in time to do the install over break because they're coming from out of the country, but that's not that big of a deal.- I also ordered some brash shifter cable bushings from Summit Racing's eBay page. They were under $14 shipped. That sure beats the price of the Speed Source branded bushings. These shouldn't take too long to install but it'll be fun to get to work. I'm looking forward to whatever impact they have on the shifter feel.- Tomorrow night I can finally install my new shifter knob. I've been waiting for a week now. My new knob is a RAZO short knob with some nice leather wrapping. It's got a nice amount of weight to it, which will be a lot of fun to toss around.I need to clean the floor mats that came with the car but I'm thinking that I'll put them away afterward. With winter on its way, I may be better off with some rubber mats until Spring. My factory mats are disgusting, though. I've never even used them; they were in my trunk when I bought the car and have been in the garage since shortly after. There is a lot of caked on mud. After looking online at tips for washing them, it doesn't look like it will be that difficult. It'll be nice to have them looking clean!

Lots of the time my dad just sprays them out with a garden hose fitted with a spray attachment, soaps them up (with carpet soooap!!), cleans them with his hands, rinses them and then squeegees them out and hangs them to dry in the sun. Or the basement if it's cold. lol Make sure you don't use dish soap or laundry detergent. They don't rinse out clean and then after that, dirt will stick to the soap residue.Just figured I'd pass on a super easy way to do it. My dad is a professional carpet cleaner, but sometimes he's lazy and doesn't want to bust out his machines. lol
Thanks for the tip! I'll probably wash them like that. I hadn't even thought about dirt sticking to the soap residue; good call on avoiding that! Now I'm actually excited to clean a set of darn floor mats.

Finally cleaned her out, vacuumed, detailed, washed, windows, wheels, but didn't get her waxed or clay barred. I DID re-apply one of my customized badges, I'll take a photo once I get the tape off
I installed my shift knob tonight. I love how it feels. It looks great in person but it was hard to snap a good picture of it in the dark. I only had my phone on me but it gets the point across.I was expecting a drop in height but I hadn't accounted for how much of the stock shifter's height was under the threading. Now my shifter feels about the same but looks really tall because of what the boot won't cover. I actually don't mind it, to be honest. It's very comfortable to grip.I do need to jump on a short shifter, though. I'd love to get the height down a little bit. I do have my shifter bushing upgrade to look forward to, though that won't do anything for the height. I'm hoping for an enhancement to the shifting experience, regardless. For $14, I can't complain. If I notice an improvement at all, it will have been worth the time and money.Nice pictures, CAMOGIRL! That looks awesome.

Haha, thanks. Having the six speed sure adds a lot of excitement to daily driving. The shift knob looks a lot nicer in person (and it feels fantastic) but I think installing the MWR short shifter would make it look and feel even nicer. I guess I have to do it. I checked the tracking on my bushings and they should be delivered on Friday. It looks like I'll have a nice Saturday afternoon project to take care of after the Iowa game (which will hopefully end better than last week's game against MSU).

Got my Cabin Filter(s) in the mail today. Swapped it out in about 5 minutes. Old one was nasty - with 135k miles on the car not sure when it was changed last. No more 'fogging' when I first turn on the defrost anymore! whoo hoo!

The postal service didn't deliver my bushings today, as suggested by the tracking information. There haven't been any updates since the 16th. If the package got lost, I'm going to be very upset.I did spend some time messing with my receiver. After some time in the settings, I managed to get a nicer sound. My subwoofer used to be too overpowering on certain songs but now it seems more balanced. I'll spend more time with it later but it's too cold out right now.My only source of disappointment in my sound system is that the mids and highs aren't as smooth as I would have liked. I'm not sure what to do about it. I could sell my speakers and replace them with something nicer but, short of going with a component setup, it seems like it would be a lateral move. I could also try adding an amp but I'm not sure if that would make the difference that I'm hoping for.Since I can't install my bushings tomorrow, I'll just spend the time cleaning my floor mats and researching stereo gear.
