hello my name is Chance and like i said i'm new, i am the the proud owner of a what i like to call a "rescued" 2006 pontiac vibe Base fwd, i would luv to post pictures now but it's dirty as $@#! LOL , but i have a problem, im trying to find a cold air intake that will fit the throttle body that is on it. it does not have the throttle cable instead it has drive-by-wire and there is more, right past the body on the intake hose there is a port that is connected to a hose that runs to the valve cover and its a vacuum without it the cars runs poorly, and i havent been able to find an intake that has this port, so do i make one or does anyone have an idea? engine is a 1zzfe

Welcome to Genvibe! We don't care if its dirty, we still want pics! As for the intake, you need one specified to work with the 05-08 Vibe/Matrix/Corolla. If you have one for the 03-04 Vibe than it won't have the port for it. The CAI I recently installed was intended for an 05-08, so it had a port for the hose going from the pipe to the valve cover. I don't need that since I already have a hose going from my throttle body to there. As for the 05-08 year Vibes, the hose is intended to connect to a port on the pipe.

OK thanks so much, and yeah i did buy one for a 06 but it was for the GT so i'll be returning it tomorrow, i looked at the one that you bought and the pictures on the web site don't do it justice, is it the right one? i'll send you the link http://www.cosmoracing.com/pro...=1258

The pictures on the website are the same for the 03-04s and the 05-08s. If you look the Vibe in the 05-08 is an 03-04, actually. There should be little to no difference in GT to base intake, I believe. Best you can do is make sure the moment you get the CAI is that it has the port for the hose. If you want than I can get you clear pictures of mine, since it is intended for the 05-08s.

well i got a reply form cosmo racing and they claim that the CAI will fit so i think im going to take a chance. but yeah a pic would be cool, and do you think painting the engine cover and the exhaust manifold is stupid? i got some really nice blue paint and would like to put it on.

EBAY go to my garage set up to find parts for your vibe and poof they have a nice basic aluminum one for about 30 or so and a sweet one for 60 somthing ive bought one from thier for my dodge its nice and it was only 35 dollers but you have to go thruogh my garage feacher they have a good selection of cold air intakes

Go ahead and paint over the plastic engine cover. Nearly everyone does it. As for keeping with your current intake, at least put a breather filter over the opening in the valve cover. Even if you have to put the breather filter in the hose. You can get the breather filter from any auto parts shop.
