Oil pan drain plug for a 2009 Matrix 1.8 the same as the drain plug on a 2009 Vibe 1.8?

Post by journeyforce »

Hello folks,I always replace the oil pan drain plug on every car i buy at its first oil change in my ownership (unless it is a brand new car) because you never know what "genius" worked on it before.I am due to change the oil this weekend. I went to the local Toyota dealer and bought a oil filter(cartridge) and drain plug(the oil filter comes with a gasket for the bolt) when I order engine parts for the Vibe I use a 2009 Matrix base with the 1.8l as a reference point.I just wanted to confirm that the drain plug for the 2009 Matrix 1.8l is the same as the 2009 Vibe 1.8lAlso the plug gasket looks like a foam/rubber thing, is this the correct gasket for the plug? Thanks

Hello :D,yes the drain plug that you would buy from a parts store for a 2009 toyota matrix will be the same one you need for a 2009 pontiac vibe. Also the correct size gasket for the drain plug is an M12 size gasket. http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=41248

Hello There,Thanks for your reply. I got the drain plug from the local Toyota dealership along with the filter. The filter came with a new gasket for the drain plug. I just wanted to confirm that the drain plug on the Matrix 1.8l is the same as the Vibe 1.8Thanks again for your reply
