12v Power Source Controlled By Driving Lights/Turn Signals

Post by A Psycho Martyr »

Ok, I know to many of you, this is common sense, but I didn't know, so I'm posting what I found out.If you are doing any accent lighting or anything electrical, you can use the turn signal wiring for a 12v power source. Here's a pic of the wiring:If you use the solid green wire, your add-on will come on with the driving lights...If you use the green w/white stripe wire, your add-on will blink with your turn signals.I know I'm not the only one who has thought of adding turn signals in the mirrors, and now I know to use the green w/white wire for my power source. Just wanted to clarify the difference in the green and green w/white wires.

Good to know. Thanks Brandon! And don't worry, I'm very pedestrian when it comes to things electrical.

lol When I had my expedition I used some relay trickery to get my angel eyes to stay on and blink with the turn signals. Was actually pretty cool.

Thought:Two led light strips under the footwellls. One on the driver side hooked to the driver side turns, then the opposite for the passenger. Result: Blinking footwells for each side...
