Foul odor from AC vents & cabin filter installation.

In the past I have had an issue with a bad odor comming out of the AC vents even with a fresh cabin filter. WELLLLL most recently I actually READ the intructions that came with the TYC filter ( purchased from logical source ). Although the filter has an arrow pointing UP....you would obviuosly install the filter with the arrow pointing UP right? but NOOOO the instructions clearly say install filter with airflow arrow pointing DOWN....LOL. Ever since I installed it the correct way, I have not had any issues with funky smelling AC vents. Just throwing my experience here hopefully it will solve someones problem.
