possible oil leak on 2006 vibe Base

Noticed it last oil change, just seemed to be a bit wet. This time looked like there was more. There is a plug on the top RH rear of the engine that seems to be leaking. Not leaving a puddle, but if it is or will be a problem would like it taken car of.Here is a picture of the location.http://imageshack.us/photo/my-...c.jpg/thanks Bryon

Perhaps leaking from the valve cover? See if you can clean it all the way and put some leak dye in to the oil and drive it for a week or so then shine a black light (they sell them cheap at Walmart or a novelty store) you should be able to track it back to the sourceGood luck

I am not going to lie to you but I have not actually looked at the Vibe engine but based on some 4 cyl engines i did valve cover gaskets for, it is just a few bolts and clean and replace gasket($10 or $20 item) and put everything back together. It is much easier then my old 1987 Cutlass with the V8Good luck

Mine is leaking in the same spot, i have an 05. i don't think it's the valve cover, i think it's the front timeing cover gasket. the plug you refured to is the timeing chain tensioner. i thought it might be comming from that. i tried to tighten the bolts on the tensioner but they were not loose i'm going to keep searching i will let you know if i find the leak.

Did some checking and the timeing chain tensioner has an O-ring. After a few years the O-ring get's hard and starts leaaking, i'm going to put a new tensioner in and it comes with a new O-ring. I will let you know if this stop's my leak!
