Your choice for next car

If I had money I would probably go with the Cadillac Escalade. Everytime I see one in real life I want to cry because I am so jealous! But back to reality I would probably have to choose a Toyota Tacoma. While im not a huge pickup fan, this isn't an overly huge truck, and it has the nicest interior of a pickup I've seen. They are also a blast to drive and sound sick with exhaust modifications!

I dont PLAN to get another car anytime soon. I much rather finish paying the Vibe off ( 2 years ) and put my current car payment into my Roth IRA every month. When the time comes though I would consider a used Honda CRV. By then they will be pretty cheap used LOL. A new car loses about 70% of its value after 4 years. My plan is to have a paid for daily driver & get myself a 1970 - 1973 Pontiac Trans Am !!!

So far, I'd be interested in the Yaris or the Lancer Sportback.The things I don't like about the Yaris are that it might be too small (if my boyfriend gets a car with more storage space, this won't be a problem at all), and that the speedometer/etc. panel is in the center of the car. I really want to test drive one, look at this, and see if I feel like it might cause safety issues; I think it might be too far away for my comfort. I really like the design, small size, mpg, and that it's from Toyota. It also has a large amount of base safety features that my Vibe doesn't haveI haven't seen a Lancer Sportback in person yet, as far as I know. I think having that angle at the back hatch might reduce cargo space by a significant margin. It also gets one less mpg in the city than my Vibe could, and since I can't really max out my mpg as it is (always have to have the A/C at the the second mark, sometimes have to hurry a little because people here are impatient) I think this could be a big problem.

Interesting question - only two years after an almost five year period of being "in the market" I can't believe how unaware I am of what is currently out there.Hyundai Elantra and Sonata, Ford Focus and Fiesta, even VW Beetle, Golf and Jetta Wagon (all in diesel) would be on my list.If there was a Sonata wagon I bet that would be on the top of the list.

I have been researching the Chevy Sonic that is coming out this month. Think we will keep the Vibe gt and buy the Turbo Sonic. 40 mpg sounds good to me.Dan

Well since GM killed off both brands I liked (Oldsmobile and Pontiac) I will probably use the Vibe as a stepping stone to a Toyota Camry.Too late I found out that Toyota still offered a Camry with a manual trans. In fact at the Toyota dealer next door they had a fully loaded new 2011 Camry with a manual trans for $17,000 before taxes.If not then perhaps a Focus, I had a 2005 Focus and it was the best car I owned. I had it for several years and all it needed was trans fluid changes every 30,000 miles (as per the manual) and oil changes(ford said 7000 miles but oil is cheap(much cheaper then a new engine because of sludge) and I changed it every 3000 miles. I like the new Focus. I also like the FusionI will not buy another new GM product. I might however buy a second 1972 Olds Cutlass to go with the one I own or perhaps a Trans AM from the 1980'sOf course a retro 2002-2005 T-Bird might be on the list. i regret not buying a 2002 that was on the lot at the Ford dealer when I got my Focus

That has not been my experience. Also, when you see the % of value from sites like KBB they base that on MSRP. I have a 2007 $23,000 msrp T&C and KBB says it only retains 40% of its value - they mean 40% x 23,000 = $9,200. But I only paid $15,500 so that 9,200 is 59% of what I paid.

My choice would be a low mileage C6 now that I can afford one . Even tho the insurance would be killer it would be an awesome platform to play with

I've pretty well decided that I'd try to get a Mazda3 or maybe an HHR. But honestly, once time comes to get a new car and put the Vibe aside as a weekend/project car, I'd want a sporty hatchback.

Honestly, if the Vibe disappeared tomorrow and I had to replace it with something, it would be a Dodge Caliber. I actually like the looks of the thing, and it has the same features as the Vibe that I consider necessary....5-door hatchback,folding front passenger seat, and manual transmission. Reliability isn't too bad, and I'm sure I could get a ton off of the sticker.
