Hello folks,How are you? I am a new Vibe owner. I just got a 2009 Pontiac Vibe with 33,129 miles from Carmax last Tuesday (8/9/11) It is the base model with manual windows, locks, transmission. It does have power mirrors. It also has XM Radio(a must for me) and a Temp sensor for outsideIt seems like a nice car and even though it was sold through a dealership(Carmax) that is in many states in the USA, the car was originally sold at the local Pontiac dealer (due to info from carfax, Autocheck and info from the owners manual)I wanted a bog standard no frills car since my other car seems to have electrical gremlins that it is in for repairs. I also wanted to have a great gas mileage car for work commutes. The Saturn Aura I also own is not friendly on gas due to its weight. There was a nicely equipped 2008 Vibe on the lot but it had 10,000 miles more and was $1000 more then my Vibe. Plus I like the back of the 2009-2010 Vibes better (No offense to the 2003-2008 Vibe owners here) I was however able to score the cargo mat from the 2008 as part of the deal. The 2008 mat does not fit 100%(ether due to the Monsoon subwoofer in the 2008 or the fact the cars are slightly different inside) but it does a great job of covering the floor. I looked for a 2009-2010 cargo floor cover but ether GM did not sell one or nobody is selling them. I did find the all weather mat but was not interested in it. I looked at the 2009-2011 Matrix and they have a mat that has the cut outs for the tether hooks. I might get one for my car if i can get one cheap. While I found carmax to be a good buying experience, they stiffed me on the floor mats. They seem to throw out the OEM mats and give you cheapy new ones which I found to keep getting stuck under the clutch. I tossed them and have a set of used 2009-2010 OEM all weather mats coming. They hook onto the those hooks on the floor. In the few days i have owned the car I mostly like it.Some dislikes are the following:1. No USB for my iPod and no way to add my iSimple iPod control to the device.2. The radio sucksBut all in all I like the car and look forward to reading your posts and learning about this car

Hey, welcome. I have both a 2004 Fusion Orange and a 2009 Gray. I like the both styles. The 04 is sport utility looking and the 09 is just plain sporty. I like the rear end of the 09 best, too.
Welcome to this great site You and Star Deceiver should have a lot in common. Not many totally "manual" Vibes out there Visit often and get involved where your knowledge and expertise allows you to do so
Thanks for the replies. I can get a bit wordy, I am a history major so sometimes I tend to write a lot. Why write a sentence or two when a paragraph will do? Here is a pic from the carmax lot right before it was taken in to be cleaned and I could drive it home.I will take my own pics in a few days after my schedule slows down. I like the color and I have not seen one this color before.
Nice color You have the rare "mystic Blue metallic" which they didn't make many of those. You'll NEVER have a problem picking it out of a crowded parking lot! Enjoy the ride
The power mirrors, xm radio and outdoor temp sensor were standard equipment. Also the 2009 vs 2008 has 4 wheel disk antilock brakes, stability control and 6 airbags all standard - those were costly options on the 2008. My wife would have liked that medium blue better than the charcoal grey we got but the selection at the special pricing we got was limited to that, white and black. I favored the color least needy of frequent washing. Here is a website that you can enter your VIN and see how rare your combination is.http://www.compnine.com/vid.ph...49241Ignore the 2003 and data - that's from the last I ran. Type your VIN in and you will get a new report.

In Jan. 2009 after I bought my 2009 I sold my 6 year old 2003 Vibe 1.8L with AT and Power package, 33,000 miles, for $9,500. I was satisfied. For fun I checked what 2003 Vibes are going for today. CarMax has a 2003 Vibe with 86,000 miles and no power package. Their no haggle price $12,450. I forwarded that listing to my friend who bought my 2003. My 2009 could be sold today for more than I paid for it as well. Better than a lot of the stocks I have. Who said a car is not a good investment!

Very nice pictures and Vibe ! As a few others have said, the color is Mystic Blue Metallic and it was only available on the 2009 Vibes, so it's a pretty rare color. I have had the privilege of seeing a couple in person and it's a gorgeous color for sure. I definitely wouldn't mind having a MBM GT .

Thanks for all your repliesI ran the VIN in that most useful database that decoded it and it said thisThere are 1 2009 ALL PURPOSE 4 DR VIBE vehicles (0.002%) matching your exact options list. There are 2 (0.004%) with at least as many options. A look at the paint specs showed me that there were only 2,388 cars with this paint scheme. It is a pretty car, I will take my own picks of it in the next week or so. At an angle it looks to have a sunburst looking color rising out of the blue paint. That was what drew me to the car.Carmax is funny when it comes to pricing. Low prices on some cars but over priced on some high mile cars that are not luxury cars.To be very honest with you folks, I went in to look for a Toyota with Low miles but high MPG for my commute and but I could find none my price range with low miles. But spotted the two Vibes and chose this one due to the color and low miles

A rose (Toyota Matrix) by any other name (Vibe) is a better deal.

Thanks. It is a base model with the 1.8l engine. Yes it does have AC.I wanted a reliable with all manual things so as to have less that could break. However The car had to have a factory radio that had ether an Aux port or a way to get an aftermarket device in for iPod use. It also had to have XM installed(I got tired of playing the wires all over game with a add on XM unit) and have AC (Maryland weather is strange as it is ether super hot or really cold with no in between)

Got out my 2009 Vibe brochure - says XM radio is "S" [Standard] on all 4 models, 1.8L, 2.4L, GT, AWD. Also listed as "Standard Equipment" on my window sticker. [Perhaps the Canadian models did not have XM standard.]
