Okay so 2003 Pontiac Vibe 1.8L with over 100k miles now.I haven't had to buy tires YET, but by winter I'll need somethingI've noticed the stigma on this board about dedicated summer/winter tires but I've been running all-seasons ever since I started driving and I get through winter without incident.Anyways, I am looking to get a set of all-seasons and it seems Continental DWS gets the nod from my past readings. Any other suggestions? Tirerack has widely differing ratings, probably something to do with differing vehicles. Figure you all would have some insight. Might also be getting some rims as income will be somewhat decent Forgot to say I have a set of TripleTreads on there from my dads Trans Am right now, I love how the wide tires look on the car, can't stand the rubbing.. Is there anyway I can go with a slightly taller sidewall size than stock so it doesn't look like it's lifted
Several members here believe in running dedicated seasonal tires. IMO it depends on where you live. I usually experience 4 or 5 days a year that I need winter tires. For those days, I usually stay home or put on the chains.

I live in the NW Burbs of Chicago... in the past 7 years of driving (yeah I'm young) I haven't had a storm I couldn't drive through (even that one that dumped a few ft and caused a big mess).
I deal with much more snow and ice then you so I am quite biased. But one thing that I've noticed since being in Alberta is that many people drive on their Blizzaks and Nordics, ect year round I can't recommend any decent all-season tires for you... they're all quite sub-par when it comes to snow and ice IMO.
