We have a 2007 Pontiac Vibe w/just over 70,000 miles on it. Almost a year to the day we had similar problems & we replace the O2 sensor. Car will shudder & miss like it's going to stall & than amber light comes on & stays on. Always happens when weather is hot. Only difference this time is when my husband took off the air filter, the light shuts off. He has already replaced the airfilter so it isn't dirty. Light came back on yesterday & we took it to the dealership & they couldn't get light to come back on. Just said it wasn't firing properly. Didn't tell us the code. They also didn't charge us anything. It has been an intermittent problem off & on for a few months, but light just started coming on recently. It has shuddered B/4 like there was a bump in the rd although the rd was smooth. Thought I was just imagining it until the service light started coming on. Any ideas?
Have you ever cleaned the MAF? Sounds like a possibility, given the fact that your light shuts off when the air filter is removed. Plus, if you've owned it for awhile and haven't done it, you should. The MAF is located just to the left of the air filter housing. The How-To:http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=36907
Yesterday I drove it to work & back & car ran O.K. No amber light on. Today when we went out to start the car that had been sitting all night in the garage, it cranked & tried to start but wouldn't actually start. My brother pulled the codes P0351, P0352, P0353 & P0354. Only thing we noticed was that when the dealership looked @ it Friday they didn't put the housing back over the wiring. The shield was missing. Will have it towed to the dealership tomorrow. Will mention the MAF sensor to them. Unless these codes mean something to you.
