Washer fluid wipers

Post by Pujon »

I have recently noticed that even though i have fluid in there, the spray is not very much if any at all. I looked to make sure the hose wasn't kinked from the bottle to the wipers. It also seems to be both on the front and the rear wipers. last week I put nearly half a bottle of fluid in there and it seemed to be fine, but this week I have used it and I get one decent squirt and then it goes down from there. Any suggestions?

maybe try checking the nozzles.you can use a safety pin and make sure they're not plugged by road grime, etc.

My mom's had one of the washer fluid pumps go bad. The rear washer would work but not the front. He checked the lines by swapping the hoses and seeing if fluid would run. Its simple to check the pump. You can get at it from the front wheel well.

I'll have to check that. I can hear a motor running when I try to spray the windows that could be the wiper motor though

The pump could still be running but broken but I don't think it would do it to both the front and rear at the same time. Usually only one would go out at a time. But check it anyways. I can't remember the specifics on our when we fixed it but it was def the pump.

Bad fluid is always a possibility. I went with a cheap Kmart brand one time bc I needed fluid bad and it ended up being a waste with very low pressure. I ran the pumps in like 15 second burst sproatically throughout the day in order to expell it as quick as possible without burning up the motors.

Maybe it was ran low, sediment in the line, and clogged the nozzle?
