Bad driving habits on the rise

Post by Beer Belly »

I'm sure none of the "bad behavior" this article is reporting is caused by any of us genvibe members.I have been passed and yelled at (while already driving 10 or 15km/h over the limit) by people that are in a rush to go nowhere. lolhttp://www.torontosun.com/2011...-poll

My trip from MI, to Ottawa, TO, Montreal, and Quebec City was horrible. I would drive the speed limit and was actually ran off the road numerous times by passenger cars and semi's.

I've slowed down a LOOOOOOOOOT in the past 2yrs. I used to be the one passing everyone..weaving thru traffic. It's just NOT worth the risk of harming my car, myself, or others on the road.

Of course I am getting old - 68 - but I make an effort to be extra courteous and drive as if there were a cop car watching me.

The ones that weave in and out, in and out during rush hour just to get two cars ahead really annoy me. haha

I admit I probly speed more often than not but I don't do anything reckless by any means. The worst is some of the stuff I see some motorcycles doing, makes me cringe.

The speeding doesn't bother me at all, people just need to pick a lane and stick to it until they gotta exit. lol

Speeding doesn't bother me on the highway in any weather. If you're in the middle of nowhere or miles and miles from a town, the speed you're comfortable doing is fine with me, just get out of the left lane when someone wants by! Some may say that speeding will kill your mileage - so what. You bought the gas, it's your choice how you burn it!In the city, on the main roads I usually do about 10-15km/h over the posted speed limit. I'd rather be in control of what's happening then putz along and get cut off by everyone! On residential streets it's the speed limit and no more. This is where the cops should do most of their enforcement, neighbourhoods, playgrounds, school zones, ect!But most cops are hypocrites (around here anyways)! Can't tell you how many I've followed driving like a bat out of hell... even have a video!!! (youtube: pacing johnny law)2 things: Get the ____ out of the left lane and if you're going to cut me off - at least SIGNAL!!!

Yea that sounds about right. I just use judgement and I don't cut anyone off or weave through traffic a lot. Almost always speed with the exception of redidental streets, heavy traffic or any other situation that speeding would be a risk. I always say I may drive fast but I'm not reckless.
